ok... i just ran the prices that 1up did... they didnt include the the hd-dvd price... as rjkc said. it actually comes out to 1,013 dollars.
and the 754 dollar mark is way more reasonable then 857... so with the hardware I think we know whose is the better deal
Elite: 1,013 dollars (finally including HD-DVD) If you are going to compare you have to actually compare the hardware
PS3: 754 dollars- who is going to buy a 105 dollar bluetooth headset.

I agree... I will be buying a 360 now... I was waiting for this addition to the xbox lineup....
still a 180 dollar 120gig hard drive is a little expensive dont you think?
Why is 1up calling this a preview? I am really starting to dislike that site...
They will drop both the premium and core versions by 100 bucks and soon... but 479 is too much for what they are offering.
but a little customer loyalty never hurt a company either... i realize that MS is a business but it seems kinda underhanded. They could have at least released all three consoles at once and gave the first consumers choice. Coming out with this console a year and some change later is pretty... well microsoft-ish
I feel sorry for the already existing 360 owners. I bought my PS3 and am extremely happy with my purchase. I was waiting for MS to come out with this ELITE version so they could finally join the HD revolution... about time. Now I am going to have two black consoles in my cabinet. Sorry for the previous 360 owners that wanted the best version and now have to spend 879 dollars to get it, that is really smart marketing on MS part... no it really is.
"What does the Elite offer that Sony doesn’t?
Answer "everything" "
Everything... like what?
I am guessing you already own an xbox 360.. premium? well when you get done buying an elite what does your total price for a final 360 come to?
But sony is worth more than MS.
Well do ya? is it 479?
I will probably wait for a while... probably a couple of months before halo 3 comes out. As for the PS3... this fall they will have plenty of good games out that make the system both a worthy blu-ray player and a game machine. As I dont own a 360 yet, oblivion is new to me, and is a blast. So all the 360 games are like brand new to me.
Through component cables? They are analog right? I think you can but the picture isnt as rich as a digital(HDMI)cable. HDMI v.1.3 is basically a marketing ploy. It will be YEARS before 1.3 is ever implimented. Most broadcasting is just catching on to v.1.2, which has costed them a lot so why would they begin to upgrade before they even have 1.2 off the ground? As for rumble; it is settled and I have no idea when new controllers would come out. But I would suspect some at some point.
I have to say that I think these fanboys on here are rediculous. I too have been reading comments for sometime and decided to post. Well, Xbox 360 give you choice... yes. However, it should have given us choice from the beginning, not a year and a half down the road. That really isn't the best marketing scheme. I was waiting for this system to come out and now I am going to buy an ELITE xbox360 because it is what I have been waiting for... but I have been waiting for over a year. I see t...
who cares... gamespot has some things right in this article... but they are truly too biased for me to take seriously what some dude has to say. What makes his opinion valid anyway? Gamespot has lost most of its credibility as a news source of any kind...
Yeah I guess oblivion for the PS3 doesn't deserve anything but a mock preview from this dousche bag. Give me a break. I personally haven't played oblivion and this a$$ clown gotta be condescending through the whole preview, like I have nothing better to do than play the games they have played?
Well I don't think that we have to worry about Killzone 2 this year. Just my guess but I seriously give it a 10% chance of coming out this year.
Apparently this guy truly believes that fans of both of these games refuse to spend money on two games in the same quarter. What an idiot.
Whe the h*ll are these people? Kinks, may have been a problem early on when there weren't internet firmware updates; I have never had a problem with my PS3 hardware, never. Sure there are kinks but nothing a FREE firmware update can't fix. Are we still in the 90's? Because I am pretty sure that is where AOL is stuck. There aren't any major problems with the PS3 hardware and AOL doesn't know sh*t about sh*t.
What is your great hatred for Sony all about? Both consoles are hella fun. They both have great features and by just bashing one like its dirt and idolizing another you lose all credibility.
Mart you are truly an xbot tool. get a life and quit misquoting people.
