Thats why, of all IGN teams, AU is the best for me. I really really like their reviews. They are 100% honest and they have that cozy casual feel to them. Those other reviews out there for Halo 3 just seem too hype-driven for me to take them too seriously.
I think that score is spot on. Given that I haven't played the game, what I think doesn't really matter I suppose.
This review is a bit harsh, though I do agree with pretty much everything he said(just not on the level of harsh-ism of mr. reviewer). I think halo should get about 8.5-9.5 and no lower or higher. I think you are the one who is confused. It's not that people think a game has to be 3 shades of brown or grey to look good, it's that you think that any game that actually is brown and grey looks bad, even when one looks as good as Killzone 2.

It's the Halo fans that are the problem. Most(I repeat, MOST) non-halo fans that aren't sony fanboys are VERY reasonable a.k.a NORMAL. saying a game should get a 9/9.5 out of ten shouldn't warrant disagrees from anybody. Somehow Halo fanboys find a way to turn 'just' 90 or 95% into a bad thing and that is what causes problems.

i've played the Halo series. Multiplayer at friends houses and stuff. I've never actually OWNED the series.
I am including the multiplayer in my score. If a game has flaws, how is it 'perfect'? All I'm saying is that there are some pretty big problems like the short single player campaign and the outdated graphics. Those two things allow for at least half of a point deducted from the final score I would think.
The perfect scores aren't because it's a perfect game...

before I read this, I'm going to say ps3, 360, then wii.
ps3 has the power(processing-wise) to last longer, as well as more built-in features. It also has several Final Fantasy's slated for release to keep the rpg crowd excited for some time to come. MANY AAA games coming out soon.
360 is already two years old, but still isn't quite fully tapped power wise. It also has a strong lineup of games to carry it for a while, as well as several AAA games coming out soon....
they aren't just 'improving relationships', they are BUYING game publishers.
