Why do people seem to think that if you have faster RAM then you need less of it.
Say you are rendering a large scene and the RAM is mostly filled with textures, and you need to store some info in the RAM but dont have enough space. You cant dump the textures because the next frame your going to render requires those same textures and the hard drive isnt fast enough to cache those files inbetween each frame.

Not really, Crysis is all about GPU/RAM
regardless of how fast the CPU and RAM is, there just isnt the capacity to store all the high resolution textures.
Another issue is the number of pixel shaders, if they can find a way to the CELL's SPEs to help with that it would be good, but it still wont be as good as on a high end PC.
Anyways I have no doubt that they can pull off Crysis on the consoles, you just have to be kidding yourself to think it will match the same...

DDLs will become more of a reality as faster connections become more common. Still a few years off, but i would love to be able to purchase my movies online. I still say Valve's Steam is a great example, whenever possible I prefer to purchase my games on there now. I dont need to worry about discs or cdkeys, just log into my account and i can install my games anywhere.
I never understood the whole "true" HD marketing thing. Whats going to happen when a new higher resolution standard comes out? Is the tv going to be a false HD tv then?
Early drivers for vista were the cause of most of the stability. Especially video drivers.
I recently installed a "evaluation" *looks around* copy on a second harddrive to test it out. Im running the 64 bit version and am plesently surprised with vista. Only annoyance was UAC, but after setting it to auto accept it hasnt been a problem.

Yeah, I was confused on why they even offered a 32 bit version of vista. Who still has a 32bit processor, and why would they want to run vista on it?
Thats amazing considering most theaters use digital projectors that are either 2048×1080 or 4096×2160. Yeah, it will deff look better...
I wouldnt expect the game to be recompiled. would be kinda funny nintendo hunting down the source code for the games (most likely in assembly) and recompiling them for the wii.
Havent bothered to look to see how he did it, but he could always layout a custom pcb, and resolder the components to it. You can get like three 2-layer boards for like $60.
for me id have to say its the more natural position of the analog stick. The analog stick position on the DS feels awkward to me.
Only genre id prefer a digital pad in is like side scrollers and fighting games.

I know it would look stupid, but if there was a second analog stick on the controller, that would be awsome.
Only problem I have with the wii on fps is turning, I find it difficult to make the character turn by pointing at the edge of the screen. Having a stick for movement, a stick for looking around, and the wii-mote for aiming would be great.

I dont think you really get it, you wouldnt even need to have a computer. You think they wouldnt make a standalone player that you could buy that only requires an internet connection. turn it on and log into your account (say something similar to steam), scroll throuhg a list of your purchased movies and then stream it.

Capacity is great, but people always seem to forget another crucial factor READ SPEED.
With a ps3 your limited to 9MB/s, at that rate it would take about 32 hours to read the disc. I think you can forget about using this for movies, and I see absolutely no point of this for games.
By the time games require more than blu ray capacity there will be a much better solution anyways.
