Wow, just wow.
Have you ever heard of iracing?
Forza and GT are good, but they are not racing sims...
Do you even play GT and or track your car?

As already stated NAND is a non volatile memory (same stuff in a USB stick/SSD).
Dumping the memory is not difficult, all it requires is un-soldering the memory and connecting it to a test board that can interface to it.

(I don't know anything about the xbox one architecture, but the same would be true for the PS4 if it uses NAND as well.)
If the controller for the flash (a device that remaps the addresses for the data and performs wear leveling to prevent...

I agree they should stick with the CELL or use something more common. By now the development tools and documentation on the CELL has matured.

I meant making a mistake of alienating developers like that again.

I don't see the problem.
The developers are voicing their concern for the added complexity of programming due to the architecture, for honestly marginal gains.

Hopefully Sony takes note on this and avoids doing something like this in the next generation. Its the games that sells the console, not the hardware.

And honestly if the CELL was such a big hit you would see it used more often in the industry.

The game is looking amazing.
I am interested in demoing the Kinect integration with it.
Only thing I care about is being able to subtly look around the corners.

I cant wait to see how racing sims look next gen.

I have personally been waiting for Tessellation for a while. Having some modeling background experience this will open up a whole new level graphical scalability in games.

Anyone else feel like they have just been Rickrolled?

To me this dosnt say that the cell is a failure. Parallel computing is just heading in a different direction. Obviously sony will stick with their tech since the spent alot investing in it, just because IBM is pulling out dosnt mean they wont make anymore cells.

No doubt.
Wasnt saying you were wrong. I agree that texture compression is the way to go. Just pointing that if you look closely at the texture itself they are really identical, one does not really apear to be more crisp than the other.

Texture looks near identical to me.
Its realy just the lighting engine that is making the textures apear more detailed.

5351d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

The lighting engine has vastly improved.
The normal maps apear much more detailed because of it.

One thing I did notice just looking at the pictures is this.

Looks like the UVW map for the roof texture got stretched out for some reason.

"Don't worry about it guys. I'm still planning on trying the game out myself."
Omg! I was so worried you wouldnt try it out.

"can anyone tell me how much space a umd has? im guessing it came to looking nice at 60fps with 800 cars but a gimped career, or a full career with gimped graphics and less stable fps - because of space issues. now if this were the issue, considering the handheld format, i think id rather have it the way it is.

1080P 60FPS has been way overhyped for gaming.
Detail is way more important than resolution.

"way , way to early to be talking about PS3 being maxed out."

I agree, same can be said about x360 aswell.

Just because a developer has the processor saturated dosnt mean that they cant further optimize their code.

On every console better looking games will continue to come out.

Yeah, ive never really messed with my timmings for memory.
Pretty much every benchmark ive seen always show little to no realworld performance gains.

Especially for games. In game engines most of the big stuff is handled on the Graphics card anyways, there is not much of a need to be pushing large amounts of data in and out of the system memory.

Framerate was fine, there is a difference between framerate and time dilation.

Track editor would be cool, but its more complicated than it seems.

Its easy to put down an overhead layout of the track, but what about variations in elivation, and slopes (tracks arent always flat).

Not to say that it cant be done, would be nice though fan made tracks = infinite replay value.

"I played Crysis and it is good but Uncharted is better. Water effects are more than just reflections and color tone. In Uncharted, when Drake gets wet he drips and his clothes actually dry out over time. "

If thats the case tehn I guess Zelda belongs on the list too, because when link jumps in the water his clothes get soaked and they dry out over time...

Seriously the water in uncharted looks great, and I would have put it higher in the list (maybe se...

What about the people who last gen had an xbox or gamecube, and purchased a PS3?

If the 360 is your first microsoft console, there is support for the major xbox games.

If the wii is your first nintendo console there is support for all gamecube games.

If the PS3 is your first sony console and you would like to play the classics (or maybe play the first three Metal Gear Solids before you play MGS4), you have to purchase a PS2.

Everybod...

Who cares if its slightly faster, its not going to make a bit of difference in the games.
