Do we really need to do this with every multiplatform game that comes out? It's not like Ultimate Alliance is a graphical powerhouse that will show off the True Potential of either HD console.
Is anyone really going to make their purchasing decision based on slight graphical or performance differences? It's a online co-op game - choose the version where you have the most friends to play online with! There's your damn Lens of Truth.
Ugh. What a waste of internet b...
Is it really a surprise? A lot of people, including me, were waiting for this moment.
I honestly think now it was part of Sony's strategy...market it as a luxury item for a couple of years, then BAM, make it so suddenly everyone can afford one.
I mean, can you imagine if tomorrow, a Ferarri suddenly became affordable? Or a 65 inch Plasma sold for under $1000?
I agree, but that does suck about the hard drive info. When you send your console in for a RRoD repair, you just take the HD out and send it in, nothing lost.
Are we supposed to constantly back-up our PS3s just in case it eventually dies? That seems a bit much to expect.
For instance, this is crap:
"Yes that’s right, once you take a PS3 hard drive out of the console it is virtually worthless to anything other than an internal ps3 replacemen...
Why even make a GT game without a career mode? Seriously?
That'd be like Uncharted without a single player mode. YOU JUST DON'T DO IT.

PSN, XBLA, and WiiWare are all awesome additions to this generation of consoles, and it's nice to see a big-name company acknowledge that.
On one hand, it's an MMO...from Funcom, no less. I have an innate dislike for that genre. On the other hand, some of the ideas sound interesting and innovative.
I'll see what people have to say, so I guess.
Yeah, I was pretty surprised at how well the PS3 version did, given the 360's still-subtantial lead in North America. I'm sure the DLC contributed to that, but we'll probably never know just how much.
Either way I'm glad so many people are playing such a great game.
I dunno, on one hand I always love more PS3 exclusives, but on the other hand I am sick to death of FPS games. Do we really need another gray-brown "gritty" shooter?
On a slightly off-topic note, the article mentioned Killzone: Liberation...man, I'd love to see an HD sequel to that awesome game pop-up on the PS3. It could even be a PSN game.
Two posts in - but it's really just an extension of the first post - and we already have a Sony fanboy listing off PS3 exclusives like it's going out of style.
Jesus. Did you just sit in the "Pending Article" section waiting for something about Halo to show up so you could post that drivel? Go to the Open Zone where that off-topic fanboy crap belongs.
There's no question that Microsoft came up with the concept of a cross-game "score" that keeps track of certain things you've done done in every game you've played. It's not comparable to a "high score table" unless you ACTUALLY care about the numerical value of the gamer score. Regarding Trophies vs. Achievements, it's really just a personal preference.
Me? I just like unlocking things, so I guess I prefer Trophies a tiny bit more to Achievements (becaus...
Curses. $50 more than I paid at Best Buy a few weeks ago. Oh well, I'll live!
First post in and we're already off-topic and discussing the PS3. Fantastic.
Yeah, I picked up a 160 gig Fattie after the price dropped $100 but before the Slim came out.
I don't mind seeing these GoW-style bundles, as long as:
1. They're rare, and saved for situations like GoW where the most recent iteration of the franchise is due out soon.
2. The games are upgraded to support HD resolutions and have added trophy support.
Otherwise, I don't think the bundles are worth it.
I think the PS3 Slim's momentum will carry Sony all the way to E3 next year, at the very least. It may be a bit more than stand-alone Blu-Ray players, but you get so much more out of it for that additional cost.
The big barrier to both the 360 and the PS3 at this point is HDTV adoption. HD games and movies are only as valuable as the screen they play on.
It really isn't a surprise; the 360 Elite simply isn't a match for the PS3 when they're both the same price. Some people will still go for the 360, sure, because they prefer the exclusive games, or more of their friends have the system. But when it comes down to people who are just looking for the most value, they're going to turn to the PS3.
Microsoft needs to either improve the value of the 360's Elite bundle by adding more to it, or further drop the price to $250.
...
Yeah, that's a pretty bold statement for an article that does little to back-up their claims.
"It's great because it's great!" is basically what each game's description seems to boil down to. It might be better-titled "Our all-time 10 favorite games", rather than "greatest ones ever made". If you're going to claim something like that, you should go into a bit more detail regarding design decisions, level design, gameplay, and overall fun-factor. J...
At what point did a reality TV show become "innovative"? I don't care through what medium it's delivered; reality TV is almost always trash, and certainly not "creative".
As 1.7 above me says, it's really a good or bad thing for gaming. It's just...a thing. Sony deserves neither praise NOR scorn for this.
Hey guys, I have a feeling Uncharted 2 AND Halo 3 ODST will BOTH be great games and will BOTH sell well. OH GOD. THE INSANITY.
Can this fanboy pissing contest about two almost-entirely-unrelated games PLEASE STOP NOW?
