I never really got the chance to play previous Splinter Cell games.
I have always loved my MGS series and enjoy the slow pace in MGS than that of FPS.
There aren't alot of 360 games that I am interested in.....but this one definately interests me. I love the stealthy style games, this is why Batman Arkham Asylum too me looks so sweet.
Whether or not Splinter Cell is better than MGS will only tell, but as good as MGS is. I'm ready for the next installment o...
But I am the opposite, I play Madden to death so depending on what year it is, that is 1 of my best games.
Fallout 3 is the one that I have been blown away by the most.
Have loved the MGS series and 1 & 4 are superb.
GTA is the same and SA was the best, but III was outstanding when first put in the PS2.

Too many of these so called great shooters haven't change alot.
Thing that gets me is I'm a Sport gamer (Madden & NCAA) and everyone whinges about how its just the same every year.
But COD have a 2 year break, change the landscape, change the character and throw you into a story that will lead you to win the war, or you think you win and the story makes it so you haven't really won.
MW2 is just another COD game, just like Madden is another Madd...
If you are too young to understand where FPS started from, Wolfenstein and Doom started it all back in the early 90's.
Goldeneye blew alot away and IMO opinion is still the best.
Not because it actually is the best, but because it revolutionised that Genre for its time. They say Halo did and what not.
But they are all still the same. Beside Graphics, A.I and online multiplayer, what has Halo or Killzone or COD bought to the table that is new.......nothing....
No different than maps for shooters, or clothes for characters.
Do you think that EA would be doing this, if it weren't successful in other games. If people buy them, then they will always be there. If not, then they won't be back next year. So yes, they will be back next year.
Like poindat said above, some (Madden) players can't play the game without using cheats, so this might be the best feature in Madden for them.

I on the other hand was expecting alot from this game and thus far it has met my expectation.
The review is spot on and the one thing that was a little let down was to do with how easy it actually felt. I too am looking forward to the challenge of harder combat.

From the moment you started the video of MGS4 with Snake you are spot on. The greatest moment in video gaming thus far, but I think you cut the video early. The Epic of this didn't end I believe until the final credits stopped rolling.
The final fight on the aircraft carrier is nothing you would want to see in a fighting game, but gee did it deliver against Liquid. And then the cut scene with Snake presumably about to committ suicide (I had to cover my kids eyes)
If we were to take this comparison then that is like 2 major companies releasing 2 similar cars.
1 is a price point car and the other is a top of the line model.
I want a flash car, but I can't afford so I will settle for what I can afford doesn't mean that the price point is the best.

Killzone 2 is the same as any other shooter.
I played the campaign and turned it off after the mission where you see that guy that you have to shoot in the back or something. It's the same old.
Killzone 2 online is the same as what I mentioned, you don't have any consequence for dying.

There was a point in inFamous where I was drawn in to a game I was already drawn to. Once Trish dies, the story pulled me in. Because I went from exploring to what happens.
MGS4 had me drawn in at MGS1. The way the last act played out is gaming at its best. I own a video game sale/rental business and have sold the same amount of inFamous and Prototype on the PS3 and I think about 6/7 Prototype on the 360.
I played both and IMO, both games are easily in the top 10 games released thus far this year.
But already no one cares about either game anymore, most customers are already looking forward to other releases.
But this comparison doesn't make sense, I could not care less about how many games I sell of ...
Any game that comes after football season is best.

I have never been so attached to a shooter like Goldeneye. Yes I was 14-15 so you do tend to replay games a bit more.
Played first level of Halo 3 and turned it off.
Played 3-4 levels of Killzone 2 and turned it off.
Played the boat level of COD 4 and couldn't turn the console off quick enough.
When is a shooter going to not be go in here, clear room, next room, clear room. Sniper level, now you need to use the rocket launcher, now you need to disar...
I definately think Fallout 3 was my biggest disappointment.
That was a bigger let down than Resident Evil 5 to me.
I have both and can't justify paying $80AUD for 12 months + $150AUD for a wireless adaptor to connect to live.
The features on the PS3 I don't even use, I just play online against anyone who is available. If I play someone I respect I can easily find them in my long list of currently played players and friend request them.
I already have facebook, twitter its called a PC. Why would I waste 3 minutes of gaming with all those features.

I own a video game rental store and have been operating for 6 months.
In that time I have not had complaints/problems or scratches showing up on PS3 games.
Unfortunately I have had about 20 games come back that are unusable, 95% are XBOX 360 games and the other 5% are PS2 games. There are also plenty of 360 & PS2 that are scrathed but still work - but for how much longer?
I can't wait until everything is played via Blu-ray because then I don't ...
I completely disagree, for the reasons mentioned above:
Why would you do that, when you miss out on the Halo's, Crackdown etc.
Plus why wouldn't getting a PS3 + 360 be better, because then you can use you PS3 as an internet browser.
Shouldn't be posting in here, but in Australia Madden is quite popular.
Not as popular as the U.S obviously, but it has a following. I love Madden, play that more than any other game.
