There are other alternatives like PC. There is also an Xbox 360 version but from what I can see, it doesn't have a definite release day yet.

I doubt the upcoming Gears of War will be cross-gen. The job requirement states not only Xbox 360, but also PS3. Which means they're looking for people who have shipped a game on either platform.
In other words, they need someone who has console programming experience.

It's not the fact that it's an old game. It's how 343 has their engine set up to instantly switch between classic and anniversary Halo 2 that's causing problems.
They could have dropped the instant switching for a higher resolution, but as Frankie pointed out on GAF, that was not the intended nature of the project. I'd give it about 3 years before we hear anything about a new GTA. So we're a long way from that.
Plus, this is Rockstar San Diego; makers of Midnight Club and Red Dead. Rockstar North handle the GTA series.
^ This above all else. Black Tusk needs to take their time to make this the best Gears of War possible. This being one of Microsoft's babies, MS needs to pump as much resources into this as they can.

They won't be releasing Halo 5 and Gears of War that close to each other.
Considering Black Tusk just got a hold of the project back in January, Holiday 2016 is a safe bet.

I would just like to point out in the article that Gears of War WAS developed by a third-party developer. MS now owns the IP and is being developed by first-party developer, Black Tusk Studios.
I think the first Crackdown sold quite well considering it came with the Halo 3 beta at the time. It was a pretty innovative game in my opinion. An open world sandbox where the player can scale large buildings and collect orbs. I remember I used to play the timed demo over and over again just to see how many orbs I could collect.
Crackdown 2 on the other hand was pretty mediocre. Considering it only had like 1 year of development and was set in the same city showed how little...
