i wish i could get one soon but i already have a 360, ps3 and wii and right now money is tighter than normal but i'm thinking around christmas time i will be able to get one.
i just like the new look and how everybody talks about how much cooler and quieter it runs....my 360 and fat ps3 are both really loud....and of course i also love the super fast wi-fi and the 250GB hard drive.
that's stupid reasoning....it's like saying "watch a movie if you want to be entertained"....there is more than one way to do things....I like to do activities outside but i also think it is fun to get together with a bunch of people and have fun playing active party games on the Wii....i like to do lots of different things, i'm not one dimensional and i doubt most people are.
true...but at least all Xbox 360s have partial backwards compatibility...most of the games I really wanted to play from the original Xbox I can still play on my 360....while none of the current ps3s have backwards compatibility with ps2 games.
its not an absolute must but i do think it is a very nice feature to have and it makes the transition between generations go smoother too.
what are talking about?...the 360 launched in november of 2005 so it is almost 5 years old....so if a new Xbox came out in fall 2011 that would mean the 360 will have been on the market 6 years.
and i am sure the 360 will continue to be sold as the cheaper alternative for years alongside the new Xbox.
2011 is possible...but i think 2012 is a lot more likely. these companies have invested a lot of money into this generation and I think they will want it to go as long as possible....but if people think this generation will go much longer than that they are probably going to be surprised....i doubt sony or nintendo will go past 2012 or 2013 at the latest.

my main problem with it at this point is simply the cost....I know for a fact i won't be able to afford to buy a new tv for at least a couple years.
i love windows 7 and i still prefer PCs over macs...so i honestly don't agree with you at all.
i also think microsoft has innovated some great stuff for gaming that the other companies have since copied....achievements to name one.
i have a 40 inch Samsung lcd and i love it...it's great....I also have an older Sony hdtv that still has a great picture....i'd say those two are some of the best tv makers....oh and panasonic is also pretty good in the plasma arena.
you are absolutely right pandamobile...competition is vital to the health of an industry....i mean would anybody want there to only be one dvd or bluray player to choose from...or only one model of hdtv to play our games and movies on?....of course not...competition is good.

i don't own a 360 S yet but i have heard plenty of people that do own both say that their ps3 slim and 360 S are equally quiet and run equally cool.
i hate when ps3 fans bring out that crap about the 360 fanboys bashing the ps3 as if that gives them an excuse to do all the trolling they do now

show us.... go find those articles filled with 360 fanboys flaming the ps3....i'm sure you can find some articles where a few 360 fanboys were hating on the ps3...but then again you can also find articles from when the 360 barely came out and ps3 fanboys were talking crap about it and hating on it...so it went both ways back then....but it was never like it is now with hordes of ps3 fanboys trolling nearly every 360 article....360 fans never did that.

that's your own experience...mine has been different. my ps3 died on me but my 360 never has. the bigger point is, this is just one report and it isn't meaningful.....hell, even if there were dozens of reports it wouldn't be meaningful...because that would still be expected for an electronics device. you know how many videos are out there of failed ps3s or iPods? tons....it doesn't mean the problem is widespread. the fact that you ps3 fanboys are jumping on this and actin...

to be accurate though even bluray hasn't overtaken dvd....i go into walmart or most other stores and the bluray section is a fraction of the size of the dvd section.
3d actually has potential in my opinion...i think it could be an exciting technology in a few years....but right now and for the immediate future only a small number of people will be able to use it.
