Tribes 2 was hands-down the best FPS ever made. Unfortunately all the sequels since 2 have been washed-down disgraces to the franchise.

This game does look very promising, but I hope they don't fuck up the gameplay. The idea of selling loadouts is verrry iffy to me, especially when being able to customize your loadouts HOWEVER you want was one of the best things about Tribes.

That said, if it means I have to spend $40 or so to "unlock" all the...

You don't need to "do it all over again". That argument is so flawed.

You can build a $700-1,000 system today, enjoy it for a couple of years, then spend $500 or so in the second year to extend its life for another 12-18 months. I've done that pretty much all since 2000 (before then, yes, you sorta had to "do it all over again" due to technology standards changing too fast).

Plus, don't forget that this is your PC. It's ...

I disagree. There's no actual tinkering with the copyright protection.

Plus, FIRST SALE DOCTRINE.

LOL.

Crytek had all three version of Crysis 2 on display at GDC, side-by-side. It was painfully obviously how much the 360 struggled to run this game. And the number of people watching each version told a clear story:

PC > PS3 > 360

They're just trolling with this article.

If you think Apple is really making that much money with iPhone/iPad gaming, you really have no idea what's going on.

While "everybody" might be playing these "revolutionary" cellphone and social games, all combined they STILL make up less than 10% of all money spent on videogames.

It doesn't matter if everyone is playing it; all that matters is how much they actually spent on it.

Because if the benchmark was how m...

Don't you just love how these articles NEVER mention how much money people actually spend on casual games?

"Everyone plays on their phone!! Even hot chicks do this!!!" Yeah, but how many are actually paying for those games?

I didn't say that being biased alone was bad; it was the fact that it was TOO biased that bothered me.

@Primordial: Sorry to pull a 1995 on you but "bias" is a noun. "Biased" is the adjective.

First time reading a review at Gameroni.
This may well be my last.

To be fair, the review was clearly an opinion piece, but the opinion of the writer is a little too biased to justify ever considering for my own purchases in the future.

Thanks Mahr. Very kind of you to clarify.
I've been schooled. ;)

@ Mahr

Hmm... that *would* make more sense. I'm looking at the Root Key(s) and none of the match so I thought people were going crazy. (I've never actually seen the Dongle Key btw, so I can't confirm if this is true; I'll have to take your word for it)

People should stop calling this the Root Key then... just saying.

There's no mistake here.
It was a deliberate tweet by Sony.

Because the "root key" isn't even the real root key.

4835d ago 5 agree6 disagreeView comment

Seriously? Are people this gullible??

Like I said, the "Root Key" that Kevin Butler tweeted the other day were FAKE. The real Root Key is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, so the joke is on everyone (including Major Nelson, maybe?) who actually thinks that was a serious mistake by Sony.

I'm not sure what's funnier; the fact that Sony knows how to make fun of itself, or the fact that the audience can't tell a joke from a serious mistake EVEN WHEN i...

if terran goes full viking or zerg goes full corruptors, they will win over void rays every time. i have plenty of videos where vikings go head-to-head against a mass of void rays and come out virtually unscathed.

As much as I dread the thought of another crash, I sort of agree with you (EA kind of had to go through a similar humbling experience before they changed their ways.... SLIGHTLY).

Stayed up way past my bedtime playing both single-player as well as multiplayer (went back and forth cause I couldn't decide which i wanted to play more, haha). My afternoon/evening meetings tonight are going to be brutal.

The reason question is... will I have the energy to play more tonight?? At this rate I might pass out as soon as I get home. =(

... and found my jaw dropping slowly IN JOY.

The debris, the smoke, and bystanding zombies... all swing by THROUGH you in 3D, giving this illusion of realism that even the 3D movies fail to provide. At least for the first 5 minutes or so, you can't even focus on the game itself because your mind is constantly screaming 'holy shit!.... holy shit!!'

3D truly is underrated, and until people actually see VIDEOGAMES in 3D, they won't understand ex...

If Sony released an ultra-cheap PS2, with motion controls... would that count as Next-Gen too?

Please.

Generations have always been defined by what's under the hood, and not what it's wrapped under.

Otherwise the iPad would be considered next-gen beyond all the rest just because it came out 3 years after everyone else.

The point is, if you want to play anything other than Mario and Zelda, you're wasting your money on a Nintendo system.

Their offerings have practically been a re-run of their N64 and GC lineup, with very minor improvements in either gameplay or graphics.

Sure, those who are just starting out playing videogames and are content playing the same Mario game every 2-3 years don't mind, but if your appetite for videogames extends beyond that, you're SOL...

I mean, do you think Robert Bowling supported the idea of charging $15 for the MW2 DLC? No.

Do you think Robert Bowling supported the idea of firing West and Zampella? No.

When it comes to "business decisions", as Pachter says, it's the senior execs that decide what's going to happen. And the CoD series happens to be run by greedy senior execs that probably don't give a shit about what these guys say.

Grow up.
