Switch was supply constrained as well. Just because there is not a world wide shortage doesn't mean there cannot be supply constraints.

If you have a 1080p TV the Series S is the best option on the market. No need to buy a 4K device for $100 to $200 more if your TV is incapable of 4K.
If you have a 4K TV, then PS5 DE is the best low cost option.

It is just a bunch of salty fans that think that the only competition is between PS and XB. Switch has made a mark and is selling really well. PS fans like to only compare sales with XB because they know they are winning there. They conveniently remove Switch because they don't like what they see.
The Switch will be taking over a lot of consoles over the next year.
I think if you are interested it is worth the exercise. But, if you weren't interested to begin with, it probably won't do anything for you.
I was interested in Marvel Avengers and Godfall last year but bought neither. I played Marvel Avengers on XB gamepass and deleted it fairly quickly because it is garbage. I might try Godfall because although I suck at these kind of hack n slash games I enjoy them. If I keep playing it is another story though.

I have played about 10 missions/side missions now. Totally enjoy it. The grapple makes things a lot different. You can decide how you want to approach an area, and I usually take some sort of sniper rifle to soften the enemies then move in to do cleanup. Platforming to get to the location is fun and it is surprising that you can pretty much get anywhere in the game. Collecting is also fun. And the gameplay is silky smooth on XB.
Halo Infinite reminds me of Halo 3 Chap...

After seeing this you can see what the difference between current gen and last gen will be.
You can see a distinct difference between games that ship on last gen consoles and only for current gen consoles. The environment is just way more realistic in current gen consoles.

I played the first several missions yesterday and I do believe the game is really good, but, to have it win votes before release, well that is dumb.

Yes, XB is no better. Did not release a new first party title from launch until August. (Except Gear tactics and Flight Simulator which were only on PC so not really new).

What is bad is that too many gamers still support these tactics. We have to speak with our dollars. In order for your theory to be true, there would've had to be a lot of people that bought the game.
In July it was announced that Returnal sold 560,000 copies. I wouldn't exactly call that a lot of hype purchasing.
