"Why would anyone even sent in a modded 360, its warranty is obviously voided."

That's what I though until my cousins modded 360 died a few months back. He took a chance and sent it in for repair, not telling MS it was modded of course. Amazingly they replaced it, no questions asked. Pretty sad how genuine users are having to wait longer for service because of thieving ****s like him abusing the system.

Apparently, he's also had his modded 360 connected...

What a piece of crap you really are. First your rooting for American soldiers to be killed in Iraq, now your openly showing yourself to be racist as well.

Where the f*#@ are the mods on this site?

No, they are behind GOOD games.

Battlefield 2 is 360's equivalent, and it's great. Battlefield: Bad Company is due Q1 2008 for 360 and PS3.

Think that sums it up quite nicely! Bubble for you.

I received a warning message regarding this from a friend. He was warned by an american on his friends list, whom in turn received the warning from a friend, and so on.

Having spent hours scouring various forums and not being able to find a single person claiming to be personally affected by this, it quickly became apparent that it was an hoax.

For those that are interested. One of the gamertags associated with this non-existent virus is j_newtron. Seems to me th...

I'm yet to buy into either format so i don't care who wins.

I care about Spider-Man 3 being Blu-ray exclusive even less. That film blows, whichever format it's on.

Killzone 2 does indeed look great. This along with MGS4 are the games that will most likely convince me to buy a PS3 in 2008.

If games of this quality are going to cost upwards of $40 million to develop for the PS3, they are certainly going to be few and far between. Most developers are unprepared, or simply not able to make that kind of investment.

I think it would have been better for Sony if Guerilla Games had kept the whole deferred rendering thing to themselves. While they obviously deserve credit for being the first to fully leverage this cutting-edge rendering technique, it could give the impre...

Let me guess. PC is better than 360 but still not as good as the PS3, right?

DarthBillBoy is right. I've been waiting for Sony to release a Linux driver for the RSX so i can use the PS3 for homebrew. I'm starting to think that it's never going to happen though.

That should help keep some of the flaming kids at bay. I've always suspected that a lot of the worst offenders on this site don't actually own a next-gen console at all.

The PS3 guys wish them games were coming this year. This is what they're really getting:

Heavenly Sword
Lair
Warhawk
LittleBigPlanet
Unchartered
Haze (timed exclusive)
UT3 (timed exclusive)

All the rest are due sometime in 2008.

Xbox sales did increase significantly once the price dropped to below £200. I can't quote any official sales figures because, frankly, it's late and I can't be arsed to go looking! I'm basing this purely on my own personal experience of all the people I know that bought them.

Before the price drop I knew only one person with an Xbox. But after the price drop, I can think of at least 20 people I know personally that bought them. This has to be at least partially representat...

Remember the UK is always the last to get price cuts and better package deals. I can see it taking a while before either system starts to appeal to the casual gamer. Until then, we don't really know which way the UK will go this time around.

For nothing being able to come up with anything constructive to say.

Besides, don't you think it would be wise to wait and see if the PS3 can at least replicate them sales figures within the same timeframe before getting all pissy about it.

As others have already said, the UK has always been a PlayStation nation. The fact that 360 is even holding it's own against the PS3 in the UK is a huge improvement over the previous generation.

Expect me to quote you on that a year from now.

Sales figures are only upto June. Meaning the 360 sold just a shade under 1.2 million units in 18 months, not 2 years. Stop distorting the figures to suit your own agenda.

"So in it's 5 year life cycle it'll sell around 3-4 million in the UK?"

No. The 360 has yet to reach a mass market pricepoint in the UK. When it does, sales will increase, just as they do with any consumer product.

Fallout 3 may be a great game in it's own right, but it will never be a true sequel to the original turn-based isometric games.

Bethesda made a conscious decision to commercialize the franchise by dumbing it down. This is a huge slap in the face for fans of the original two games, and is really frustrating for those of us that love the old style turn-based RPG's.

I have little doubt that the Jagged Alliance franchise will also suffer the same fate.
