Sleepy Joe at it again! Probably playing PS5 in his basement! Unlike Trump! He keeps paperwork in the basement.

Make console prices great again!

@Pete

I doubt that has anything to do with it. Sony ditched PS3 games years ago. If it was so expensive to offer 360 games, Microsoft would have done the same and just offered better, newer Xbox One games. Xbox offers junk because GWG is an afterthought.

In related news, Microsoft is getting rid of an old couch and left it down by the road. Any Gold subscribers are free to pick it up.

Don't delude yourself. (At least any more than you already have).

My math was only about Game Pass.

You're trying desperately to sell a talking point, not substance. The hilarious part of it is, in doing so, it just reinforces how dependent Game Pass' value is on the promise of those first party games in the eyes of people like you. You're not talking up what it does have, what you're playing today. You'...

"why would you pay full price for MS first party games when GamePass offers way better value?"

$60 * 0 first party games = $0.00 savings

Come back next year.

"Unless the person buys zero first party games which seems unlikely."

Seems pretty likely for an Xbox-only owner in 2022.

PS+ will get first party games a year after release, and Game Pass will get them a year after they're delayed!

Everybody wins!

That's a list of games on the service. It doesn't tell you what was added versus what PlayStation Now had.

From that first article alone you could figure out what was removed if you knew it was on there previously. But if we're going by the logic that this warranted a separate article (I think it does), it would be nice if they specified what was added as well.

Step 1: WORLD PREMIERE!!!

Step 2: CONSOLE LAUNCH EXCLUSIVE!!!

Step 3: PUBLISHER YOU NEVER HEARD OF!!!

Step 4: DEVELOP YOU E NEVER HEARD OF!!!

Step 5: Quirky side scrolling indie game or budget action game

Step 6: Repeat 47 times

Step 7: Starfield

The days of these E3 style blowouts are over, but Microsoft wants to seem to hang on to them. You used to get press...

I love the "not gonna buy it a third time" crowd. These doofuses will gobble up a remaster releasing a year after the original, but a remake nearly a decade later is unacceptable.

Good stuff.

1. Promise all first party releases on on Game Pass on day one

2. Don't release any first party games at all

3. ???

4. Profit!

When Sony was giving all Now subscribers Premium for the remainder of their subcription, and automatically merging Plus and Now if you had both, and giving you Premium for the length of the longer subscription, it's pretty obvious they weren't going to nickel and dime the customers that wanted to pay to upgrade.

Man, you are really grasping at straws.

You keep using delays like it excuses Game Pass having no new major first party releases for the year.

You keep treating it like it's the same as any other publisher delaying a game. Microsoft's the only company promising those games as a selling point of a time-sensitive service, and failing to deliver.

Back to the point at hand... Microsoft has talked up those first party games as a maj...

I never said MS only promoted their games. The article never said that either.

But the fact is, first party AAA games were promoted as a major selling point of the service, so much so that a lack of first party day one games has become the single biggest criticism of PS+. Microsoft failed to deliver on that promise, plain and simple.

You and everyone else reading this know damn well there's a big difference between the Starfields and Trek to Yomis of the world.

734d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Oh man. You really did miss the point.

It's not about "two games" being delayed. It's about about a paid service that actively promotes the inclusion of it's AAA first party games as a major part of the package, failing to deliver any AAA first party games for what's already looking like nearly a year.

"New games in general"? The last big one being... what? The budget priced Rainbow Six game? Some indie game? Surely something comparable to Starfield, right?

Ramble on about whatever you think Game Pass is "really" about, but it doesn't change the fact that Microsoft has been hyping up the day one first party AAA games for years, and they're completely failing to live up to their promise this year. Someone called them out, and it clearly rustled ...
