Wow. Is this thread still going on?

People, the article is from one obscure site that references an unknown source and provides no evidence.

It is BOGUS.

Here are some more rumors for you: "Sony Home will require a real-estate license and 2nd morgage!" or "Cell Chip achieves sentience and demands Constitutional marriage rights!" or "Massive storage of Blu-Ray eclipses sun. Millions parish!" There, they were written...

Most playable content of any demo? Awesome. I just can't get over the number of great demoes Live has had over the last month. It must be close to 20 since E3 began.

I'm really looking forward to Stranglehold but I have to admit that Bioshock is going to take my money this month, so I'll probably purchase it when things die down after the Holidays. Cheers.

"Don't let the Flood penetrate your Rings defenses, buy Halo brand rubbers, the Chief's #1 choice. Warning: Spermicide may not be effective against the Covenant."

Just awful, I know. =)

I guess you cannot be critical of Halo soda unless you are also critical of Final Fantasy Potions. At the same time, Spiderman, Shrek and Star Wars had their brand on everything far in excess of what Halo is doing and felt far more intrusive to me.

I say - if you think Cherry Mountain Dew will be a refreshing beverage than buy it. If you avoid all things Halo and Microsoft like they are an evil pariah to be shunned and spat upon, then...uhm...don't buy it and seek help.

=)

Agreed! Truce then.

-MGS4 is not coming to 360 and will remain exclusive to PS3 until the end of time.

-DVD9 will never be a limiting factor for a 360 game, as never getting off the couch to change a Blu-Ray disk during a 200-hour session will lead to heart disease and therefore less PS3 customers. (Damn, I tried but it's so damn hard not to crack a joke!)

Cheers, IV.

The only reason to cache to the HDD is to speed up load times. So, there is no technical reason to require the HDD if the engine is coded to handle both cases.

Also, dropping the bottom SKU goes against Microsoft's entire business plan, of bringing the 360 to a mass market price.

And finally, MS just admitted a hardware problem and set aside a Billion dollars to make sure their customers where being taken care of. This is not the act of a company who will turn ...

Disregarding the fanboy driven space issue, that Crop Sheet of different Weather Effects is stunning. Great job!

Well, did the original Xbox have better games than the PS2? It had more potential, right? It could do things like cache to the HDD and full screen anti-aliasing. It had Ninja Gaiden and Halo which were certainly the best of their genres on console at the time. Your argument seems to support this idea that the PS2 games were 'lesser than' because the hardware wasn't the best at the time.

Here's my point...the PS3 and 360 are beasts and can do amazing things and each has thei...

You make an excellent point ReBurn. "Size matters not!" =)

This article is claiming something it can't possibly know for the reason I outlined, just as I 'predicted' failure of Sony's 10 year plan. Both are ridiculous statements. See?

I'm sorry but this is not correct. It takes much more time to create a texture from scratch or capture a sound than it does to compress that texture or sound. There are certainly advantages to Blu-Ray but development time is absolutely not one of them. Creating a game with MORE of everything will take MORE time. It is only logical. Cheers.

Bad-Ass. Sounds like Bungie has gotten over their technical hurdle with this feature. I wonder if you can share in-game movies of the Campaign as well? That would be f-ing sweet.

(KZ2 dig removed out of respect for ALIEN's comment.)

There will only be backlash for EGM if the review is unjustified and extremely different than other reviewers. It just seems to be at the very low end of the spectrum with GamePro in the middle with 75%.

I hope that Heavenly Sword has enough variety to warrant it's massive hype. Drake's platforming and gunplay look neat but the fighting system needs work. Sony needs a really strong title on all fronts if they are going to get back some lost ground. These poor Lair reviews ...

$60 is too much to blow on something that isn't a sure bet, and so the average review score definitely has an effect on which games I buy now or months from now, used. EGM's three reviewers have cast huge doubt about the quality of Lair which will undoubtedly have an impact on hardware and software sales in the run-up to the holidays. I wonder if their is a precedent for a company to sue a publication for giving such a devastating review?

I actually loved the demo and recommend trying it to anyone who hasn't played it yet. Cheers.

Way to wildly speculate without any facts, how controversial of you. Firstly, until the game has been partially made, there is no way to tell how much space it will require, and there is no way they are in full production yet on Noire until GTA4 is in the can. So, prognosticate all you want. I'm predicting that Sony's ten-year strategy will fail tragically and any exclusivity with MGS4, FFXIII and Noire will go multi-platform in time no matter how many DVDs it takes.

Well, they had a couple weeks of good press after E3, but that's gone now. Bioshock knocked Lair out of the air and into the murky depths. I'm betting Phil Harrison is on the phone with Factor 5 asking them to put analog controls in a downloadable patch. And Good God, if I wanted to fly a dragon through floating rings, I'd play Spyro!

(I reserve the right to take back all the bad things I've ever said about Sony and buy a PS3, if they actually deliver on some promises like b...

They aren't even close to matching the functionality and services of Xbox Live right now. It's not as if MS is going to just hang-back and stop adding new features. The Sony-faithful will just have to wait (some more) and see what the future brings.

My God, this month alone brough Live users over a dozen killer game demoes equalling several hours of gameplay. If Live was bad, that would be one thing, but it's great and the Sony-faithful don't want to hear that.

Bioware rocks. I love shot #3 with the red characters. The lighting is fantastic.

Can't wait. This and Mass Effect will own me over the Holidays.

The only problem with an amazing 20+ hour game that I can see is starting over again and making different choices. I just wish I had more time!
