They thought they were more secure, but really they weren't. When they developed a new media for the Gamecube instead of using DVD it was also because they thought it would be more secure. Now it turns out that media isn't secure any longer. It will be interesting to see what sort of response it invokes from Nintendo....

for a few months after launch was because there were no 360's to be had. What production there was got snapped up immediately as soon as it hit retail shelves. that allowing a game engine co-developed by Sony to be used on 360 doesn't show to the public as much as a game using characters owned by Sony on another system does. I think Sony would be perceived as caving to the numerical superiority of the 360 to bolster it's profits if they did that, which many would think would be the same as Sony admitting they lost the console war this time around.

The first MGS on PS2 had way too many cut scenes in it. Play for 5 minutes then be forced to sit through a 15 minute vid. You'll be watching hour long cinematics after 5 minutes of play if they give him the 50gb disc.

the proposed law says "games PLAYED or DISTRIBUTED on German soil" Anyone importing violent games and either playing or redistributing them would be guilty of a crime and subject to imprisonment. I don't think there will be much importing going on.

whether the mother knew she might die from drinking too much water, it is that the radio station should have known. They were negligent in not finding out the health risks of excessive water consumption before holding their contest. As it stands, they are actually lucky that only one of their contestants died.
It would be worse if she died for nothing. Seriously, though, the radio station should have checked if excessive water consumption can cause death. If they had, then this wouldn't have happened. I would imagine her family is going to be filing one hell of a lawsuit.
