Noctis, you need to understand that not every gamer has the same taste in games. I like MGS4, the storyline is pretty good (at least for a game) and the production values are excellent, but, in terms of gameplay i would choose gears everytime. Its just more fun IN MY OPINION! Not yours, not a fanboys, not metacritics, MINE! Say what you like, in terms of gameplay i prefer Gears to metal gear solid 4, as overall packages its pretty much equal for me.
Was lucky (and i say lucky as playing this game felt like a privelage) enough to play GeoW2 last night, and all i can say is WOW! Contrary to what many people say about this not being a game to convert people who weren't keen on the original, I wasnt a fan of the 1st but this has excellent gameplay and great graphics, makes me wish i still had my X360, the campaign feels a lot more fleshed out than the 1st. I'm sure when R2 hits though, I will survive with my PS3 Haha.

I have yet to play an online console shooter that comes close to Halo 3, everything is nigh on perfect, the matchmaking, community features and bungies incredible support (would be even better without MS as the greedy middleman between them and the fans). No doubt KZ2 and R2 will be good, but they will both need to be massive massive improvements over their predecessors in order to hold a candle against halo.

I would aggree with you on that, but heres an idea, why not take a break from your rigorous 24 hour N4G posting regime, and, you know, perhaps play on your oh so wonderful PS3?
so according to your logic, it doesnt matter what the score is (which indicates the better game) its the improvement over the previous itteration in the franchise? So if im a developer, i want to make a completely garbage game so the sequel is better for it? Pretty stupid thing to say.

I agree with you, Halo is one of the biggest franchises around (for me its also one of the best, but thats just my opinion of course). I have always been a fan of Halo, the tight controls and pure gameplay are what do it for me, no other FPS has that feeling of just being right.
That said, I will certainly be picking Resistance 2 up, it should hopefully fill the void of online FPS shooter left after my 3rd X360 packed in

The best rated exclusive this gen is on the Wii. I Have tried several times to get into a mario game but i just can't. I don't understand why people like it so much to be honest, but each to their own.
His/hers opinion is no different to someone merely posting that they love the game, except to a fanboy anything less than pure dedicated devotion to their console of choice is not allowed.
It should be (a lot) better than PSN/Live (braid is pretty incredible mind)/virtual console platformers as its a full retail game, not some rehased old gen 16 bit game.

Brilliant graphics alone make not an excellent game. I look forward to killzone 2, but with FPSs gameplayh is the key for me, lets hope KZ delivers :)
Kudos to Insomniac and all the other ambitious developers out there (lionhead, Kojima productions etc) for pushing the boundries of console gaming. Fanboys need not reply.
