Even if it did, Nintendo pulled a slick one by merging the console and handheld markets together with the Switch. So, even though it is selling like it is, it is mainly because all the Nintendo handheld customers (who don't necessarily want or need a console) magically have become "console" owners whether they use it as a console or not.

Well played, Nintendo...Well played....

@bloop, I don't complain, I just won't buy it, I have NO problem waiting till the price drops to what I am willing to pay. Sure, I'm a gamer...but, I am also a consumer and I am patient. So, If you are willing to pay top dollar for your games then that is what the market in your country will bear...yup, it your fault :P

with consoles, just waiting a while after a game is released does wonders for your wallet! I mean really, everybody bitches about having a giant backlog of games, just be a little more patient and play the games you have and before you know it that game that was all the buzz when it was released at 60.00+ as well as the three 20.00 expansion packs is now all included on the disc with all the preorder bonuses ready for you to buy for 29.00.

You are an extremely intelligent consumer, Kudos!
That is the best way to help the industry from getting too far ahead of themselves, If they see people waiting till the price drops, then they will know that the market cannot bear the cost. and will adjust prices accordingly. If anyone thinks that a more expensive game means the elimination of MT's and downloadable content then they are fools, you will just pay the new more expensive price and have all those terrible practices a...

The market is not going to bear anything over the standard 60.00 for a game, as it is, personally, I just wait till a game drops in price considerably before I even consider purchasing it. I learned to NEVER pre-order, that is just a fools errand. So, publishers CAN charge 70, 80 or even 90 dollars for a game but, no one is going to actually pay that (unless your a fool or it's not your money being spent) And I'm talking about the largest gaming consumer, the school aged gamer and the...

Yeah? You seem to think that companies develop everything in house...except Sony. Seeing that most every Microsoft product was "acquired" by purchasing technologies or even the creating companies outright and rebranding them MS products. Everything from Office to Hotmail and even DirectX were things Microsoft did NOT create but Acquired. Microsoft is the definition of a company that is "Standing on the Shoulders of giants".

It's sad that This is considered a novel concept for the Xbox...BY XBOX!?!

If that's the case then, this list is invalidated by that one fact.

This Guy! MS runs on the scorched earth philosophy, buy up a bunch of studios at the start of a gen and shutter them 2 years in...not sell them or let them become independent, no, Just close them down. That is how MS is advancing the gaming industry. by getting rid of studios.

2 years....Microsoft pushes hard for 2 years and then they start shuttering the studios they acquired at the outset of a new generation and rely on third party support and timed exclusives. Just think, In two years Obsidian will most likely be no more. Unlike Sony, Microsoft is about as good a steward of these newly acquired studios as Disney is to Star Wars, maybe even worse because MS won't even try to sell the Dev studios they will just spitefully liquefy them. So 2 years, I sure hope ...

I did, The expiration for the points is 5 years from the day you earn them and I have only had the card for a year... Here is the statement from the Sony rewards website:

"As long as you remain an active (as defined below) Sony Rewards member within any 18-month period, you will have 5 years from the end of the month in which your Sony Rewards points were earned to redeem them. All points expire 5 years after they are earned."

I have over 15000 points (150.00) on my Sony card, by the time it releases I should have double or more points. I will probably buy the PS5 Directly from Sony Through the PlayStation Store when it go's up for sale. If you get a Sony or a PlayStation card now, and use it for all your purchases and pay it off before each month. (personally, I make every purchase with it during the day and when I get home I pay it off on line) Then use your points toward the PS5 (unless Sony blocks using poi...
