Like in everything, though. you can look to past performance and actions to accurately determine what these companies will do, Sony has a nearly perfect track record in the console gaming industry for customer satisfaction....Microsoft, well not so much...if it wasn't for it's monopoly position (not in consoles but Computer OS) and it's abuse of power they would have went out of business 25 years ago....

Untrue, at the start of every new console gen, MS buys studios....and in 2 years time Summarily shutters them. They are quite consistent when it comes to killing off development houses, they are a terrible steward and are more likened to a slumlord rather than a support system for the studios.
I agree, Buggy and bad AI aren't all of it's issues and granted, running around up in the trees is pretty cool but, at the end of the day is misses the mark. they really need to delay release take player feedback from the free weekend and make this game from what it is to what is could be.

"15(maybe 16) first party studios" is all fine and good...If Microsoft didn't have the propensity to shutter almost all it's first party studios after a few years of owning them. A studio being bought by Microsoft usually becomes a dead man walking. I would suggest employees from these studios freshen up their resume's/CV's for the inevitable culling.
Ghost of Tsushima looks to be a beautiful game with an interesting story, cannot wait to play it.
