"But if it continues to sacrifice the web to protect its desktop hegemony (while it fends off attacks from Apple and Google), and throws out the open standards and open source that drives successful web companies, it will rightly dwindle in importance and eventually die, however long that might take."

Article overall was good in insight and opinion, however I think the above closing remarks were a little forgetful of how Microsoft really stays strong. It stays strong by...

I'm afraid I have not found that out myself yet. I know 2001 was released on N64, perhaps the secret "old school team" was not available on the Nintendo platform.

Thank you for providing a link to another article with a little more information on the situation.

You should probably read the full quote on when he mentioned passive entertainment and MGS4. Also if you don't think cut scenes are passive entertainment then you should analyze the meaning a little before getting butt hurt over the idea/point within the quote.

I know right!? Who are they to rate MGS4 a "Eva 'Papi' Torres"!?

However, I think their implementation at the moment is a little disorganized. Emphasis on just a little. I like the idea of creating a user generated(wiki) type of one stop source for information on games, new and old, but it seems some pages are not well thought out while others are really well organized.

If it is competitive, performance and price wise, then this could have a huge impact on the computer market. Really interested to see some benchmarks and comparison statistics.

Wow, way to miss the point of the article... Humor is deeper than cat photos with silly quotes.

If you really feel this sensitive about your purchase in consoles and find the need to justify it in a light that only shows what you think is positive, then you should probably take a breather and relax.

"Get ready for a serene and spiritual online multiplayer experience where most gamers dont talk crap and alot of them do actually have headsets except for the ones t...

Agreed. Even if they don't price gouge, the cost of the new chips, cheap or not, will be felt by consumers across the board. Regardless of price it will still cost them to manufacture and replace infrastructure already in place.

Regardless, probably won't see this in place for another 6-10 years but I hope further research is implemented.

Their a company... Their goal is to make a profit, as is all companies. If gaming companies let their personal preferences drive their business decisions then they would not make any money, and ultimately no longer make any games. If you really think any game company doesn't have profit as their primary priority in producing a game then you need look over any game companies decisions and their reasoning.

It seems as though you assumed Microsoft bribed Square Enix into going multi...

I need to preface my next comment with the fact that I truly liked and thoroughly enjoyed the Too Human demo.

Now that that is out of the way, I don't think this game will be a "masterpiece" as you put it and it is far from perfect. The thing is though is that it has Amazing potential within its context and concept. My problem is that you can see these great possibilities, but they are not going to be realized in this first part of the series. Combat, co-op, mechanics,...

Hububla, the Japanese culture/consumers shy away from the xbox primarily out of the fact that it is a foreign console above all other reasons. Look up xenophobia and japan and you'll find many ethics based arguments over their tendencies to shun foreign companies. Sometimes it is the companies fault for trying to use western marketing dynamics to enter their market, but overall it is primarily from their disdain towards anything that is not native.

Wow, this is the longest list of spin conversation I've read in a long time...

Before you make accusations and assumptions on topics you obviously have not read up on enough you should do a little research. If it is really that sensitive of a subject for you people to get this crazed that you have to contort subjects to fit your mold of reality, then you should probably take a breather from gaming.

FF XIII is on the unreal engine, read up on that a little bit AND go ...

I love the artistic style of this PoP, its fresh and unique. What I would really like is gameplay video, not 2-3 seconds or a cut-scene, like at least a couple minutes to really get a grasp on how we'll interact with these environments.

Oh and, that dude needs some sleep, a shower, a shave, and a haircut. He seriously looks like he just woke up.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to have something that is good, and kingdom hearts is always good. It is a bit of a stretch though, but it wouldn't hurt to make it multi-platform.

Ghoul, "warcode" is, to put it quite frankly, nearly non-existent in a situation where lives are on the line. When I say that I don't mean that its okay to shoot civilians or people that are not part of combat, but to think that medical personnel are not targets is, to put it mildly, bologna. When you say "warcode" you mean Geneva convention human rights, and honestly how many people do you think truly ratify it? Think of rogue groups, terrorists, or factions that form out...

Trust me, that is not always true. It is a common tactic of real snipers to do this. Not just to have clear shots at multiple targets, but to lure out the medical personnel in the patrol/unit/area. Without the ability to heal your troops and get them back to fighting, each wounded soldier is essentially a full casualty instead of an asset.

You'd be surprised at how often it works. It doesn't work all the time, especially against experienced people, but it does work.

If Sony had sold the console at release for the rates they are currently selling it then the disparagingly large gap between them and Nintendo would not be so bad. Its not that about 13 million sales is a bad thing, its that they could, at this point in the PS3's lifetime, be much stronger in the console race had the pricing been more competitive. I say Nintendo b/c Japan is an important market for Sony and currently they are getting dominated there in hardware and, more importantly, software...
