I am no expert, but it may be a dirty lens on the laser. So therefore it does not read nor recognise the disc.. You could try searching the internet or youtube as hopefully there is a solution to cleaning etc.

I agree christheredhead while i thoroughly appreciate the developers incredible technical wizardry in producing a graphical and technical marvel, i also felt the game lacked somewhat in replay value. In fact i have never played it again after i completed it on day 1.
