Most sub-surface and glossy reflection techniques that are able to run in real-time within a game engine will tend to have a bit of a plastic look due to low sampling and accuracy.
@Markus: Being able to push higher frame-rates means you can keep a more stable 60FPS with VSYNC. And it also means that in future games that come out, you will be able to run them at acceptable frame-rates. It has nothing to do with being "elitists". But about wanting the best possible experience you can afford.
Nothing to suggest it's in-game graphics? Yeah there is, just look at the foliage. That's not cinematic foliage, that's typical in-game foliage rendering.
Depth of field isn't too new of an in-game effect, and it works great in DX11.
KILL DA WABBIT!
It's a racing game... That in real life also has medals. So why exactly would you think it's wrong? It just signifies what place you achieved. Gold being first of course, and Platinum being the record time.
Only the best bang for your buck when talking purely basic unified shader performance. The many other features Nvidia's architecture supports, along with the more stable and quality drivers make it worth the tiny extra cost. And knowing you're supporting a company that is making such great strides in general computing on the GPU and mobile platforms is great too.
You should really just have the trollface image as your avatar.
This article goes against your comment. Nvidia keeps consistent with updates for new games to further increase performance.
Did you by any chance install the new Adobe Flash 10.3 update that probably popped up on your screen this week? Most of it's features are only compatible with the newer beta builds of Chrome. While being compatible with current FF4 and IE8.
Also, you can try doing a clean install of the drivers.
I think your joke-o-meter is broken..
Back in 1989, when he named his daughter "Zelda".
A laputer?
Well let's say you have a few computers with the same specs, but different cases or color, you're saying it's wrong then to choose what look you like best?
But yeah, choosing on color alone would be stupid.
@jakethesnake:
Thing is with this story though, it was taken out of context, they didn't show the whole scene. They are actually defending adopted people. Wheatly even says near the end of the conversation "Actually...some of my best friends are adopted.." And GlaDOS says beforehand to Wheatly, "What's wrong with being adopted?"
@Fez: But it isn't even offensive. It's only offensive in the way they portrayed it. They knowingly took the line out of context. If they had shown the whole clip from beginning to end, people would have gotten to see GlaDOS say "what's wrong with being adopted?", which is why she then afterwards says that Wheatly is adopted and thus it's horrible. Then Wheatly afterwards says "Well actually some of my best friends are adopted..."
The game ...
Not that I'm suggesting this is real, this looks like utter crap and most certainly fake, but I could see it not having an attachment for a hard drive or sd card, but going full on with the whole streaming idea, allowing that data to be streamed over wifi from a computer in the house, or perhaps a USB wireless-N dongle for your computer since not everyone has a wireless N capable router. It has enough bandwidth to make it a feasible option.
A socialist economy still allows for capitalist like buying of products -_-. It still has an open market where people choose what they want to buy. A socialist economy merely means that there are high taxes that are spent on providing services to the society as a whole. So nobody becomes truly homeless, or starves, or dies because they can't afford health care. It also means the government keeps companies in check, watching to see if they do overly greedy things that will negatively impac...
Uhh, it's not.. Where are you getting this idea that it's more expensive? It states no price on the new article, the price will be known on the 17th. And it will likely be cheaper than the 560ti, as it's supposed to be a great value for performance type card like the 8800 and 9800 series were.
And yet, many of those developers you specified truly did raise the bar, some on more than one occasion, such as Crytek.
Most powerful in the price range...
They seriously need to get a better translator for him, the guy has no enthusiasm or emotion at all haha.
