But not about the requirements for current games. When it comes down to PC gaming, you don't need a PHD to know the inner workings for a GPU, and to be able to compare performance charts <_<.
And if you actually looked, you'd see there were many games hovering in the 30 and below FPS range using the GTX 460 and 560. And newer games are only going to get more demanding. (Crysis 2 ftw!)
And thank goodness for that. I really dislike the idea of a company like Apple gaining leadership in yet another market. It's bad enough they have a stranglehold on music.

No, your CPU is more than enough for this card, although I would advise trying to overclock it to at least 3Ghz.
But when we talk about bottlenecking the GPU, what we mean is that a CPU can't do it's processing tasks in the game quick enough to allow for a smooth framerate from the GPU. And your CPU is still more than enough for any game, probably for at least another 2 years if not more.

And it's not locked at 2.6Ghz. Q6600's can reach 4GHZ in many cases on good air cooling. Google search about how to overclock the Q6600, you should be able to go to at least 3.4Ghz no problem.
You sound rich. Thought of stocking up on good games on Steam and giving them a go on max settings. Like GTA IV? Metro 2033, DiRT 2, Mafia 2, and so many more awesome games..
This is a dual GPU card, so no, that isn't a tonne. Most single GPU cards these days have 1.5GB of RAM.. So what happens when you go for dual or tri SLI? 3GB and 4.5GB's!
And actually if you do multi-monitor display at high resolutions, and even more so in 3D, that takes a lot of mem. And it's future proofing the cards.
If you work in the game/film industry the more RAM on the GPU the better also.
Not to mention the support for CUDA and PhysX enabled software is worth the little extra bit of money for the chances you get to use it. Especially if you work in the 3D industry.

Used games hurts developers A LOT more than piracy ever will. Pirates are mostly made up of people who never had the money for the product in the first place, and thus the developer...
I think he's quoting a ridiculous anti-piracy commercial that aired once. Or at least some of it and tweaking it to this story. Because I'm fairly sure I remember seeing a video that started off similar to that.

Lol, Soldier one, Sony is not in the right at all. When you BUY something, it is supposed to be YOURS. And thus you are allowed to do whatever the hell you want with YOUR PROPERTY. If some people use that property to pirate games, well then that's something illegal they chose to do.

I'm guessing you read the DDR2 Wiki, and a bit too quickly? Because it says 533Mhz is the highest rated DDR2 module. Not the starting point.
So I don't benefit from being able to use my PS3 as a media hub capable of playing a plethora of formats on my TV? Or playing emulators of old NES/SNES/etc.. games on my TV for some nostalgia fun? Or being able to use it as a computer in my living room running Linux hooked up to the big screen?

This game came out on November 9th. Only in Europe for some reason though. I've already played and beaten it, and can say it was a fun game with a great engine, great visuals, massive land to explore, fun combat system and overall good experience. And what you can do with the magic in the game is amazing, look up Two Worlds 2 physics on Youtube, lol.

The Kinect is only being used as a device giving user input into the simulation (moving the cloth with your hands).
To do cloth simulations like this can actually be done on the PS3 and 360. It merely has to be simulated on the GPU. The ones in both consoles having more than enough power to do cloth ...

Some of the acting is better, some of it horrible. The worst is the Prophet, who also happens to be a key character in the game lol. Her animation is horrible. She'll just be standing there tilting her head side to side and waving her arms as she talks. And the subtitles don't even match up at all for her haha.
But the game itself is pretty awesome.
The first benchmark is done with a game that has DX11 tessellation of a quite intense amount. AVP.
