I dont know if this a smart move from sony.. The more you push the PS2 the more reason people are not going to buy the PS3.. For every PS2 sold is a lost potential PS3 customer.. I guess with the 40gb PS3 being only $399 it would leave give a good reason to have two PS.. A PS2 and a PS3.. Either way I don't think people who would buy a PS2 is going to turn around and buy a PS3 a year or even two years later..
I wouldn't say it was just sony more like the big electornic stores and televsion manufacturers! But then again Sony is the leading LCD sellers in the market i believe... You know what's even crazier is that supposedly you are able to tell the difference between 1080p and 720p once you get 50" and up screen size and these guys weren't even able to tell the difference in 130" screen!

A3 can't do 1080p.. But what's the point of 1080p when you can't tell the difference between it and 720p??(go look at the story I submitted).. Also why do people need 1080p when theres a bunch of people that can only do 720p display? I'm pretty sure the 720p crowd are bigger compared to the 1080p crowd. I myself don't see a use to 1080p other than making the electronic giant and the electornic manufacturers rich
I think 1080p is really more a marketing gimmick by television companies and electorni retail stores to get people to buy the more expensive product rather than spending half on a 720p set. I have a 720p projector shooting on a 92" DIY screen and feel that really don't need 1080p because I mostly use it for HD Cable and doing some gaming on it. What benefits would it have on the PS3 compared to the 360? With the PS3 you won't have rumble, no achievements and you'll get better online play on the 360!! If you don't have a 360 I can understand but if you do have a 360 and a PS3 i see no reason to get it on the PS3..

Yeah it sucks that Sony are using GAMERS to help decide this war! The only reason so many studios are backing Blu Ray is because Sony put it in its Playstation and those companies knew about the fanbase of the Playstation brand is 100+ million strong..
