Actually, this is good news for Xbox 360. 360 is selling neck in neck with the PS3 considering big games traditionally on PS is coming out (GTA IV) and Metal Gear Solid 4 soon.

Xbox 360 has generally been weak in Europe and the only country they have done well at is UK, but considering the expected added momentum for Sony, MS is doing well. This is good news for the consumers in the 'hardcore' gaming industry. The best market for gamers is when one company is just slightly ahea...

I never used the PSN Store on PC, but what if the hacker changed the email address. Then you are SOL is my guess.

HD-DVD just recently officially died in February. The title suggest Blu-Ray movies sold 9 million in about 5-6 weeks.

Am I missing something?

This proves my point all along, it is almost impossible to fix a broken company and Take Two is a broken company. It will probably never come back and might just end up like Midway or worse Atari. In some ways, this might actually be a positive that EA is buying them because if the company goes under some random company worse than EA could have bought the license to GTA or their sports.

I don't like EA, but certainly hope GTA and Take Two's franchise do NOT go under. I would ra...

I think the developers themselves were to busy topping each other off on the greatest looking game they forgot the majority of PC owners do not own a $3,000-10,000 computer rig. To top it off, nvidia/ati is constantly trying to top each other off with the most expensive and fastest graphics card possible. In the meanwhile, Intel is reducing cost and shipping integrated graphics to the masses.

When PC games were blooming as an industry, I rarely had issues running a game and exp...

Who can afford to pay these outragous cost associated with PC Gaming? Instead of paying for a gaming PC I can buy a used car, go on a nice vacation or invest in a retirement account.

Worse is when PC game developers constantly make their game catered to the high end market we have a problem. Also, it "seems" like a lot of time the games on a console look better than the same game on my PC with a semi-decent rig.... That is of course a subjective view, but still!

Are you serious? Bill Gates is quitting his job to do philantrophy. This does not sound like a man that does not help people in need. In fact I had the pleasure of hearing him speak and was very impressed with his decision only to support third world suffering and not rich man's diseases like cancer. I suggest you do more research before badmouthing other people.

MS has done a lot of things wrong, but copying ideas and improving them is hardly one of them.

One big company is using it, but it certainly sounds like smoke and mirrors to me. Perhaps it is just the way the article is written, but very interresting.

I wonder how they did it...

Actually, OPEC has great power over oil pricing and its sole purpose is to serve its oil producing members. It's member produce the majority of oil that is sold today and can control supply.

I'm suprised they used the word "inferior" when discussing HD-DVD in relation to Blu-Ray in the article. HD-DVD was in no way inferior. Not even close. There was no question that Blu-Ray is better on paper, but in real use most people would probably not notice the differnce, not to mention the other features that Blu-Ray lack that is standard in HD-DVD. The article does not really answer the question and instead just makes certain assumptions that has already been indicated in other...

I think it has something to do with the creative direction of Bioshock. Mind you have not played the game, but from a story telling view I have heard personally a lot of good things about it.

Zack & Wiki sold terribly, but was a great game on the Wii. Yet it did poorly in sales. Same with Okami. Sales measures popularity not necessary great work.

True enough, but that is what if's.... Fact is Sony took a huge gamble and it cost them a bundle. Their gamble might pay off in the future, but that remains to be seen.

The fact of the matter is that many people have bought and many will continue to buy the PS3 as a blu-ray player. The PS3 will probably continue to get excellent support for future Blu-Ray profile and it plays games and has network ability. Why wouldn't you buy a PS3 to play Blu-Ray?

I would be ve...

A quality DVD player with great upscaling abilities usually cost a bundle. The Toshiba HD-A3 even without 1080p support is a great deal at $60.

Now I own CoD4 on 360 and my brother own it on PS3. However, the fact that it sells many unit might be because it has consistently lowered the price of the game since Christmas to $40 in the US. If you look at other "AAA" games such as Gears of War, Halo 3, Mass Effect and so on has kept it's price fairly steady with little discounts.

One should really measure the success of a game not only in units, but also in revenue. Activision is trying to push CoD5 this Fall or ...

I do not understand why people feel the need to always bash MS or even Bill Gates. Bill Gates is not MS besides business is business. From what I know, Bill Gates has provided plenty of donations to 3rd world countries and probably contributed more than most greedy CEO's or high ranking officials for that matter.

As a shareholder you are part owner of the company and that choice should be with the owner of the company, not the managment that is paid to keep the best interrest of the shareholders. Apparently, in Take Two's case, managment isn't doing what is in the shareholders best interrest!

Although, I do not like this development with EA's hostile takeover, it is their right!

Google is worth $160 billion with a marketshare of about 50-60% and Yahoo has a marketshare of 20-30% depending on where you get your numbers and when. Yahoo is worth about $40 billion. Let's take the worst case scenario for MS/Yahoo, where Google has 60% market share and Yahoo has 20% market share. That means Yahoo has one-third of Google's market share, but MS is paying one-fourth the value of Google. See that... This is not to mention that Yahoo has a lot of potential.

Well since the PS3 isn't doing as well, the Sony fanboys will certainly do anything in the power to protect Sony's reputation. If the tables were turned around, I'm sure many Xbox fanboys will do the same.

In my opinion, 20 minutes is a long wait time for a console. We are not talking about a PC here. Imagine waiting 20 minutes before you can watch a new DVD movie. For me the whole point of consoles is, I don't have to fickle with hardware installation or do software installati...

I used to have the PS1 and then the PS2 so was used to the DualShock style controllers. After seeing the original Xbox controller I was like wtf, so ugly!!! Both the big one and the smaller one was ugly! I never felt that the original Xbox controller was any good.

After using the 360 controller for a while I actually prefer the 360's controller over the DualShock shockingly considering I was not a fan of the original Xbox controller. I like the weight, the placement and the fee...
