I personally don't see the benefit of multi platform games to gamers. I remember the days where each console had games that defined that consoles. (Unless you feel that having access to all games on one system is a benefit, then I can't dispute that)

I'd prefer it if each company developed unique games that are ranked in the 'AAA' levels for their own consoles (I hate that term so much).

That way, I am compelled to own both consoles. (or all three)

I am tired of waiting for this. Especially with RB2 just around the corner.

They dare consider charging 400$ for this in Australia?

That is FAR TOO MUCH!

I'd rather get a G25 with a driving seat for 500$

I used to play FFXI. Had to fight a boss for several hours. I quit after that.

Are you sure? I am certain those high pitched players from PSN and xbox live were little girls!

XD

I assure you, there is nothing to dispute the existence of fan girls. Juuken is a fine example XD.

(Just don't make her angry :P)

XD well living in Australia, with our atrocious internet services, I genuinely experience lag when playing with my American compatriots :)

Then again, it'd be the same on any console for me. Xbox, playstaion or even pc.

People invest in new technology knowing that it will one day be replaced by something 'newer', 'hotter', 'faster'.

Just look at the computing industry. There is no way you can keep up without spending money.

Supposedly you decide to wait for the next 'big thing'. How will you decide when to jump in? If the entire populous had that attitude, there would be no next 'big thing'. Why? No adoption, no growth, no trend. Thus, no 'big thing'.

Technology will a...

There is always two sides to a story.

But neither one is completely right. Each argument and point put forward is not perfect, and there will be flaws.

A comparison between those that just do, and those that just don't make a debate moot.

Therefore, we must look deeper than just surface reasons.

edit: "if they believe it is worth it" and therein lies the conundrum we are in. When is it worth it? what does it need to have or not hav...

You just have to accept that some people are not willing to freely let go of their hard earned money.

From your comment, I applaud the fact that you go out of your own way to fund your hobbies. It is definitely commendable.

You have to realise, however, that not all people have someone to look after them, and that they may be the one looking after other people - and spending money on something that doesn't benefit the family isn't neccessarily the right way to go ab...

"It costs amazon a ton of money to run and update their site on the net - would you be prepared to pay them for access to it?

Of course not! They pay for it out of the profits they make from selling goods, exactly as Microsoft should.
"

I very much agree with this concept.

You would be surprised at how many more people would be paying the 50 without knowing any better. In many cases, the person funding the LIVE services is a parent, and they may or may not know about alternatives to just entering their credit card. Besides, its convenient and fuss free. With all the things and responsibility a parent has to go through each day, the last thing I'd want to worry about is bargain hunting for recharge cards or whatever they call them.

I think I've said this many times before.

For myself, the cost is not neccessarily the only issue. One of my issues is that they charge similar prices in different regions where the services provided in each region is clearly different.

One prime example is the video store. It is not available in all regions, yet I am still expected to pay relatively the same price as our American neighbours. Even if the service is provided, Australia's internet infrastructure is far...

The game has been modified though?

5768d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I think its a little different.

Not that it really affects me.

But in their defence, those games started on xbox360 and were touted as exclusives which later moved to the PC.

Wherein in this case, Spore started on the PC with premises of being on the PS3 being slim. Even if it is just a rumour/speculation, it is a little different in the scenario.

However, I thought the point of the article was comparing the open nature of PSN vs the nature ...

This censorship affects the ps3 version as well right?

I might have to import this if its good. But then again, those changes seem fairly minor.

lol? As amazing as this may or may not be. Please concentrate on the PS3... darn it!

Or at the very least bring some of those new ps2 titles to the ps3.

I dont understand PoG why you are quick to attack and quick to Defend. In fact, too many people are.

Either ways, it ultimately is beneficial to both users and the developers if true. The developers get access to a substantial market, while gamers are given the opportunity to play what reviews seem to point to as a good game.
