All this is very interesting, but it's going to come down to what devs can get out of the machines. It's about the games. The Vita is an awesome bit of tech, but is lacking the titles to make it a success (at this stage)...and yes I have one.
I was never a MGS fan, having tried the others but never finished them, but I loved MGS4.
I agree. This is totally different. But it's good to see more 'action' type games.
It's nice to see some hack 'n slash games coming. It looked like a largely shooter landscape for consoles in 2013 otherwise.
I'm still more a close quarters fighter.
Bet Battlefield 4 is announced this year though!

But DMC seems more to my taste as far as environments and concept.
I like variety, so I agree with you about the shooters. So when we only get rehashes of Nintendo cartoony stuff, I groan.

I really would like to see more than old Nintendo IPs on this console...rumours of the next Zelda as the next big game do nothing to make me feel this will happen.

I don't think any awards list will match up exactly to any one person's opinion. It's an overall thing with a group choice.
Some poeple are over zombies too you know. The Walking Dead isn't going to be what everyone wants.
Sorry, I meant GOTY categories. Halo 4 won some at IGN like best graphics and here it won best multiplayer and shooter.

Most seem to agree that the worst game of the year is the Vita COD Black Ops game though.
