Ha ha...too true. Although with the exception of the spells and the horse armour the stuff they added in Oblivion was reasonable downloadable content. I think map packs for games that are released shortly after are the worse culprits.
I was quite surprised how much fun there is to be had with this game. Just the sort of game that there should be more of on Xbox Arcade. I hope there are more add-on packs to come too.

I have all three consoles and have been really disappointed with the titles that come out for Wii. Most are rubbish and those that are okay more often than not have an old Nintendo cartoon character attached.
Surely the remote revolution involves more that this? Ideas like Wii Fit are great but there needs to be more third party stuff.

I don't think DVD-Crave have anything to do with Microsoft. They made a mistake and some people got lucky.

There is discussion of an R18 rating in games now, but gee this game is NOT nearly as bad (violence and gore-wise) as a lot of others like Gears, Conan, Dead Rising, RE4, Condemned 1 and 2....etc etc.

Yeah not sure....I've never played a Virtual Tennis before....hopefully they do a good job.
Not only new interesting environments, but more interactive, destructible environments. Nothing worse than when you shoot a lamp and it seems to be made of bullet-proof glass. I'm not saying everything should be able to be destroyed but the environment has to seem alive and somewhat realistic.
I also think more games should have NPCs around that aren't there just to shoot with or at you.

In Australia you don't have many faceplates at all...in fact you could count them on two hands I believe. So either the idea didn't take off here or it wasn't marketed here. So in Australia the concept has failed to work.
Yeah but they were giving some away with pre-orders etc. as an added incentive. I got COD2, GRAW, GRAW 2 and a stupid ugly blue one free with pre-orders.

I agree that every game that has a multi focus should also include offline for those who like to play with family and friends in the same room (remember that?) or for those who can't find a multi game online because everyone is playing COD4 or Halo...
I disagree that every game should have a multi focus. I think most people only play a few games online and so the developers of the other online featured games wasted time and resources on a multi that isn't even used...better to...
So what do you guys/girls think would make them better? I think shooters can really get you immersed more than other types of games (look at Condemned...) but where are they going wrong? Too much military focus instead of originality?
I've always enjoyed them but there is something about them that is making them seem tired. Even COD4 seems like I've been there before (well except a few key parts...)
Since storylines are pretty low priority in shooters, how about a shooter that follows the history of United Nations warzones?
That would cover several time periods post WW2, different weapons and vehicles, and diverse places and environments, and you'd really be the 'good guys' based on the majority world opinion. Instead of following the story of Sarge. Generic Soldier you'd follow different nationalities (not just US and Brits) working in hot zones like Korea, ex-Yugoslavia, ...
We need more adventure games where plot and environment are focal to the experience.
