I will almost always install it for increased performance, but the optional install will give people 1 less thing to complain about.
Some of these reviews focus on the create mode and forget to mention the game ships with 10 - 12 hours of gameplay, not to mention the endless numbers of user created levels. I got it yesterday, and you are right it is awesome.
The fanboy effect ruins the concept of user reviews. It's a shame that anyone even notices them.
I agree that it is mahem with 30 v 30, but I love to play it. If you want a more tactical game, try to join a 20 on 20 or smaller game. Also, you can play Skirmish which segments the match to 8 v 8. The coop is the best part of this game. Day 1 purchase for me.
Media bias is a difficult thing to prove, but everyone seems to notice it. The problem isn't that R2 will review out in the 8's, the problem is games like LBP and GeoW2 will receive multiple 10's due to hype and marketing support.
I am having a blast in the R2 beta, and that's the only review I give a crap about.
The xbox 360 has been on the market 18 months longer than the PS3 and Wii. You need to use the power of math and divide the lifetime tie ratio by the time on market and you will see that they are virtually even.
Gamespot sucks and I will never waste my time reading their reviews. That being said, I was in the Socom beta and these issues were reported many many times. This product was not ready to be released and the game deserves a 6.5 because of it. The saddest part is that beneath the lag, network issues, missing features, and glitches is a great online shooter. The beta was a blast when you could get on. Sony and /6 should have delayed this another 3 - 6 months and release a proper product.
What was the question? How do I drive a bunch of traffic to my crappy website?
"Proximity chat also lets you hear enemies talking "
That is the point of proximity chat. You can hear anyone in the proximity. In the beta I would talk to members on the opposing team. This feature should be standard in all PS3 multiplayer games.
Why does the PS3 need saving? It consistently outsells the 360. I remember when GT5P came out it was going to save the PS3, same with with MGS4, and now LBP. The PS3 is doing just fine.
If you don't want to buy a theme, don't buy a theme. Any questions with that?
I have never had an install take 10 minutes. It would take 2 - 3 hours for me to download a pre-packaged install file from PSN. I don't really know if this site is being sarcastic, or they aren't really thinking things through.
I love it when an "objective" "journalist" uses the phrase Sony fanboys. It really gives you good perspective on their true feelings. Games journalism needs a professional makeover. I can't believe this stuff gets published.
Even if the publishers were able to stop pre-owned sales at the retailers, we would still be able to buy these games through ebay or other sites. In fact these sites are better because they cutout the middleman and the obscene markup.
I care.
I'm guessing something was lost in translation. I am skeptical that we will be getting a demo of this next week.
Pop-in in a beta. How could it possibly happen? /sarc.
The shipment numbers are different from retail sales numbers that media create, npd, and even vgchartz attempt to track. Both sets of numbers are relevant in different ways. Ultimately the retail sales numbers will drive shipments, but a console manufacturer can push monthly shipments numbers via promised price cuts.
Sony has outsold the 360 6 out of the last 7 months in NA according to NPD. The sales margin in 2008 is significant. It doesn't matter what numbers you choose ...
Use a high profile game to drive hits to your website.
They are posting the some of the poor textures found in the online. You can find low resolution textures in any highly rated game.
I'm in the beta and have never seen a pool of blood like that. The 8 player cooperative will be the best online experienced found in any game on any system this year.
