Possession.

I am forever mad it got canned.

I really would like another Resistance game. Primarily because the series in general raised an awful lot of questions regarding the Chimera and then failed to answer any of them.

I'd agree with you only in terms of atmosphere. Gears 1 had a pervading grim feel to it that made you think no matter what happened, humanity was still effectively screwed, stemming from your relative lack of contact with human allies other than your squad and the voices over the radio, and the regularly-discovered grisly remains of human soldiers. Gears 2 did a complete about-face and had you spearheading an army it was implied in the first game humanity wasn't capable of amassing an...

God I remember when Gears 1 came out. I was completely engrossed by the atmosphere; how fluid the controls were, and how much the guns sounded like God slamming his fingertips in a door. I spent literally days going through Gears 1 and then going through it again on a harder difficulty with either my brothers or a friend. And the online multiplayer! Christ that was addictive.

I preordered this as soon as I was able. Homeworld 1 and 2 were some of my all time favourites and I was pretty heartbroken when I lost the discs. Thanks to Gearbox though, I can now (or very soon at any rate) relive my boyhood fantasies of commanding interstellar armadas.

Not sure why it's called "Rise of the Terminators" as Termie suits have been around for almost 10,000 years in 40K lore.

I think that most impressed me was how well the parkour mechanics work in Dying Light. It feels free and unlike in Mirror's Edge there's usually some room for error (especially once you unlock the grappling hook).

I believe you mean "masochist".

And personally I loved that part of the game. Tense, and creepy. I don't think I've ever felt more like I was in a game of cat and mouse that could be turned on me at any moment.

Trust me, the writing in Dying Light is many cuts above Dead Island. It's far from brilliant but comparing the two in terms of writing is like comparing Uwe Boll to a moderately competent modern filmmaker.

Also I believe Techland actually hired a comic writer to pen the story.

No Ace Combat 7?

Not interested.

I'm not seeing I Wanna Be The Guy, Battletoads or God Hand on that list

I never understand what people are on about when they say they want the series to "return to its roots" because I've always found the RE games (with the exception of a few moments in the REmake and Code Veronica) more campy than scary. There's also the hideous tank controls and awful fixed camera angles, I mean, seriously, do people actually WANT to go back to that archaic design?

I do, however, understand why some purist fans don't like RE4, but it rema...

Didn't they do almost exactly that with the Devil May Cry HD edition? Sure, 4's not in there but you get the entire PS2 trilogy.

Don't know why companies even bother with review embargoes because pretty much everyone takes it as a sign that not even they believe the final product is going to be much good and are keeping people from finding out just how bad it is until people have already spent money on it.

"The game would have been a definite buy, had the developers gave more weightage to combat and fight sequences, than exploration and survival arrangements."

I think I've read all I need to here.

The author of this article clearly has the barest inkling of the direction CA were taking when they started work on Isolation. People like this are why journalism in video games is considered such a joke, and why it IS such a joke.

Ubisoft have made some pretty great games yes but they've also done some outlandishly dickish things that have put them quite firmly on the shit list of many PC gamers.

If I recall correctly Druckmann and co. wanted to do another game set in the same world, not a continuation of Joel and Ellie's story. Personally I'd be all for that as I think the world is pretty ripe for storytelling. A game following a Hunter who gradually falls out with his fellows, for instance, I think could be interesting.
