Steve Jobs is dead.
I've been dying a lot in Dark Souls.
Coincidence?
I think not.

I don't see an issue if it gets a release day update for the client and any major server side patches that are necessary are in place come release day. You got to remember that on a multiplayer system there are two main things being run: the server side code and the client side code. You get the client side code on your disc but DICE can update servers all the way up to release without affecting anything.

Right. Because we KNOW MW3 WON'T have ANY glitches whatsoever! ;) LOL!

My first thought when I saw this ad was "Great, when this airs on TV, my wife will think I'm even more of a dipsh*t for being an adult gamer".

It's only going to resonate with people who are already avid gamers and understand the references, IMHO. So, it's not going to sell many new PS3s but it may increase existing owners commitment to Sony/PS3 and will increase goodwill between the customers and the company.

When they are charging 60 bucks a pop, developers should be able to do a good single player and add a cool multiplayer component, IMHO. Look @ Uncharted 2, Gers 3, RDR. If you want to be a AAA game you need to compete at that level which means the prdouct should have it all. Otherwise its wait three months and get it for $20 less.

Cool conspiracy theory, Stan. LOL.

The load times must have been caching issues, etc, rather than due to it being on compact disc. If the load times were disc limited moving them to PSP/PS3 memstick/hdd would have sped things up and the PSP's fast loading mode would work.

Since the PS1 games run via emulation on the PSP/PS3, any code or architecture bugs will be present. The game should run *exactly* like the original warts and all.

I doubt Square has the original source laying around in ...

If Magnus is wrong, and it's so unbearable why was everyone constantly citing this as a truly "Classic" game that everyone should play and was desperately need on PSN? It seems like if the game is *that* good, the load times are probably bearable but based on all the disagrees it seems like suddenly now this games is no longer a "Classic" and is now a "mess".

What gives? I'm genuinely curious, not saying its okay that it has bad loading (...

If they are good games and sell well, then, yes. If the remakes suck and do not provide significant and as a result do not sell well, you will see them try new things. It's simple economics, that's how markets work.

I'm loving some of the HD remakes. Others I will pass on. Ditto with sequels to current IPs.

LOL @ id FPS game with sucky multiplayer. Those guys basically INVENTED multiplayer driven FPS gaming.

The engine looks mind blowing and the character animations and environments look incredible; but if multiplayer is not going to be awesome, I have a bunch of single player games to tide me over while waiting for BF3/Mw3, so I'll pick this one up with a gift card after Christmas.

If you guys think gigantic publishers like Activision and Sony are going to use the increased profit margins they experience to improve the situation for developers or customers, you're deluded.

The games industry makes enough money to support quality devs and new IPs, as is. The Games industry generates more revenue than any other form of entertainment for God's sake. Used DVD/BluRays still work in their full capacity. Go figure.

This move is just ab...

Darksiders rocked. Looks like this sequel is shaping up nicely. Looking forward to hear more about it.

They look compelling... but call me back when they cost half as much and more importantly SUPPORT HEAD TRACKING, that's when the VR stuff will get less V and more R for me.

Tech this new will always take a bit to get the kinks worked out and ends up being a waste for early adopters on a budget.... The second gen will be way cheaper and perform 10x better.

Will definitely keep my eye(s) on it so to speak, though. LOL. It does look promising but is still pr...

I still love platformers! I'm glad there are so many classic IPs still kicking around and emulation technology has kept all my old faves available for when I get in the mood for one!

Love the modern ones, too, especially LBP1/2!

If you live in NYC then what he said is still true. Everything is more expensive where you live. LOL :)

Based on the .ru websites I've seen, I find that percentage disturbingly low. LOL. I'll bet what that stat really means is that 25% of Russian gamers do not have internet access. :)

That would make sense if all the games on UMD were on the PS store. LOL.

As someone who has already preordered a Vita and has a WALL of UMDs I'm desperately hoping this is true but, that said, I ain't holding my breath, either.

I like the first person perspective for a variety of game types. Having a first person perspective does not immediately make a game "an FPS". IMHO. As long as devs are not forcing the perspective into a game and ruining the game's design/fun factor, who cares?

Also, it's not like there are no more games being made that aren't first person perspective. I'm pretty psyched for the new uncharted and gears of war for example. I'll probably get Space M...
