I've been saying this about the Wii for awhile. Nintendo did the same thing with the GC, they sold all of the AAA titles first to generate lots of sales and hype, and then for the end of the consoles life they released practicially nothing, just to try to sell a few more units by releasing MP: 2 and Twilight Princess on it. They just added this strategy to targeting the casual gamer demographic and:
- created a huge amount of hype
- the hype resulted in huge sales of AAA ti...
Digital downloads won't take over for awhile. Yeah they're great for renting movies, buying tv shows, and buying little things, but the amount of space it takes up and chance that it might all get deleted or stolen are too high. Personally I prefer a hard copy any day.
On top of that, even though Microsoft is claiming this, thry have no full titles on XBL while the PS3 has SOCOM, GT5: Prolouge, Warhawk, and Burnout Paradise
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Nintendo doesn't get get it's console out first so to generate steam and build up enthusiasm they release all of their tripe AAA titles really early creating huge initial sales figures and popularity. Then later on they offer nothing and still end up making it because of the massive initial sales. It was the same thing with the GC, it was so popular at first but by tthe third year it had nothing left except for the occasional Pikmin 2 or Metroid Prim...
Oh right, like I'm really gonna spend my money on something I know nothing about....If I had heard about what the maps are like sometime before this and it was just an unexpected release of it, I'd probably buy it, but since I have no clue what they are, most likely not.
They keep saying this stuff, but the PS3 has been outselling the 360 and has an impressive lineup for next year while the 360 and Wii don't really have anything. It's kinda reminding me of last generation how the Xbox and GC both looked amazing at first and released some great games but didn't have enough hard hitting titles through the years to keep them going
Well that was stupid. The movies are clearly hard to get and it won't just happen over night, and as for the games PSN is filled with lots of unique exclusive games people actually want to play. XBL just has a bunch of remakes and crud, which while good, don't add anything new.
I agree completely. Everything about WaW just screams CoD4 WWII Mod
I really liked GR's idea of a future war, but not like with laser, more like Endwar but with guns being currently developed like the Corner Shot, Automatic Shotgun, etc. and in first person
After owning the 2 the PS3 is clearly the better console, but as the writer said it had a really rough start. However that's starting not to be the case (many of the newer multiplat games run better on PS3) and the exclusives are getting better and better. Resistance 2 is highly underated and LBP is extremely unique and sort of blocked by all of the huge hardcore games coming out right now, so it's impact isn't one huge blast, it's more of a slow and steady wave.
I doubt there i...
It mentions XIII on PS3 but not 360. Granted this is probably only for Japan, but I really hope it means it'll be released in Japan and the US on PS3 and then made for the 360 later. It'll be really stupid if it's released in Japan and then everyone in the US has to wait an entire year for them to make the 360 version...
That wasn't that good. Much like Tropic Thunder it was overated
Way to rip an article from GR...
Well that's stupid. Hope it's region free and I can import it or something
Figured this out ages ago.
I still don't see the point of the installs, it does NOTHING aside from cut down load times by a few seconds. Heck, you still have to have the disc in anyway....
My butt. Resistance 2 is more innovative than Gears 2. Heck, GEars 2 isn't really innovative at all and it's still an amazing game
Don't really care that much. I was excited for it cuz I liked the first two, but with everything else coming out not so much anymore.
However I don't really get how it could have been development issues this close to the release date. I seems a little weird...
Way to piss the 3rd parties off more...
sucks for Australia, not the case here
There are a lot of indirect ways they do it as well. For example almost all Blockbusters have PS3 stands and whenever I go in it's playing commercials for Playstation games
I would really like to see the Killzone 2 mp trailer on tv though. When the Helghast is yelling "Sanctum Ranun!" and you hear the kinda siren in the back, it's so creepy. Reminded me of the first R2 trailer with Henry Tillman and the radio broadcast (which also sent a shiver down my spine)
I don't give any credit to Treyarch, especialy since half their development process was cut down using Infinity Ward's gme engine as well as basically replicating CoD4's mulitplayer exactly...
I can see why Crysis might be better overall (barely) but a lot of what they said was stupid. For instance the gun looked way better in KZ2, especially because it's kinda of blurred like in normal vision and isn't completely clear. Additionally just the fact that KZ2 has those graphics, amazing physics, and doesn't take a butload of hardware to run, is pretty darn amazing.
In reality though, there's really no loser hear. Both look amazing and like the writter said, KZ2 didn't eve...
