Wow. That's about the most boring update they could've made. Between this and the way too late, spoiler filled Abby trailer they're just hitting foul after foul

What, you don't remember how integral it was being able to use your N64 controllers with the Gamecube? Or to use your 360 Kinect with the Xbox One?

Same. It’s worn out it’s welcome on my HDD, especially since I dgaf about Warzone and I can’t even play the modes they promised pre-launch that I want to play reliably (looking at you hyped up night vision mode that is buried in other playlists)

YESS! Is it really nice for some people that they added Warzone? Sure. I don't want to take that away from those people. However, I didn't buy this game with any knowledge of or intention to play Warzone, and so I think it should be completely optional for me to download that content or not. Honestly it's akin to buying a car, fitting it neatly in your garage, and then finding out you are obliged to attach increasingly larger trailers to it that you don't want or need.

Pretty much. Never mind that the game that was promoted through the Beta and publications has been warped since. When I bought it I thought I'd be able to play night vision games when I wanted, not be barraged with promotional material for Warzone every single screen I'm on. I have to think that if the game wasn't splintered between the base game and Warzone (which Activision clearly has them focused on) you would see a better multiplayer experience.

I've only played the first few missions myself, but so far the campaign really has been something else. Without more playtime I don't know that I'd say 4.9/5, but so far they've done a really good job of capturing the grey and gritty parts of modern conflict. Honestly, it's like they're acknowledging that CoD4 was just conventional, WWII era CoD but with modern guns, but this is actual modern conflict where a lot of the fighting happens in the darkness and in the stree...

With over-world view there can still be that challenge, because the rare options can still be very hard to find so you still have to wander. But at least it would offer variety, so you could still encounter and/or battle commons you find in the grass, and then just freak out when the rare that you really want finally pops up in the over-world and you run over to catch it

I have wanted the system you described for so long. It never made any sense to me why in the show you could dodge but in the game there's barely any focus on dodge or defense

I like the new version and appreciate them making it fresh, but I also wish the classic survival mode was an option, especially in regards to waves and time commitment. In the original one I felt like it could take an hour to get through, which was fair. In this one it took two random players and myself 20 minutes to get through one map stage. It was fun, but if I want to play through all 10 stages consecutively and see all the content it appears I'd need to set aside 3+ hours. Typing it ...

The hubris that statement comes from is the same which led them to believe they could dominate the market with two major titles at once.

Alternatively I think a late November or early December release could have been beneficial as well. I'm personally most excited for Infinite Warfare out of the three, but no one could claim that Battlefield 1 looked bad or that quality is an issue as reviews and impressions have shown. If they had left Battlefield to take on CoD directly, betting that it would be received better (which the thousands of Youtube dislikes for the CoD videos proved a likely outcome), then they could have ridd...

From what I've played, which is admittedly not very much, I believe Battlefield is struggling from the desire to be huge whilst balancing the needs of human players. If you spawn and there's no vehicle you're usually SOL, because the map is so large to accommodate plane warfare. My point is if you're someone who gets frustrated with the running downtime of Battlefield games it doesn't appear they've made great strides to fix that (though again, admittedly the map colle...

These type of reviews don't warrant a lot of attention from me when sites like IGN and Gamesradar are over there on only Day 2 of their reviews and haven't made it to the center of the universe yet.

That's what I was telling some of my friends too. Maybe you toss a grenade to cover an area, and then every shot you take siphons health away and distributes it to teammates in that area

It's funny to me that he thinks Overwatch has it figured out. At least in CoD, Battlefield, etc. the shotgun can run out of ammo, and it makes sense proportionally since 1-2 upper torso or head shots with any gun can kill them. In Overwatch I constantly see Reapers just holding down the trigger and then ghosting away as soon as they need to reload. Or for D.Va the damage doesn't do anything (Blizzard has even said they're going to work on either giving her more damage or making he...

I don't think "broad appeal" is a requirement for game of the year, by any stretch of the imagination. In 2012 Journey one in the DICE awards, and Portal 2 won a few GotY (granted it's Valve, but it still wasn't your typical RPG/shooter/GTA game). That said I think, if they manage to pull them off, the only two games left I believe could win GotY would be No Man's Sky and The Last Guardian. I believe No Man's Sky and what it achieves could be worth that honor, an...

I'm wondering if this to stagger launches, so that they can keep a good hold on servers. After the trouble with Driveclub I'm sure Sony doesn't want this to have trouble so maybe they advised it. We'll see, but whatever the case I can't wait for it!
