Tl;dr because EA lost talent when employees sued over unpaid overtime back in 04. Just like when talent left infinity Ward after the Activision overtime scandal circa 09. Techmo had their own overtime scandal as well,

this person probably never played motorstorm on ps3. the mud in those games looked good too

It was probably a budget constraint. They didn't have crowd sourcing back then, so given that final fantasy was bigger, they probably couldn't afford to run this series along with all their other projects without sacrificing something else.

Game consoles got you down? It may be time to drop another $300

Misinterpretation, he said best case scenario, so I'm doubtful because while I expect the development cycle to be shorter, they never rush a game. So I'm guessing no sooner than 2015

Because they're either Xbox fanboys, or Microsoft is paying them to

Sony did the same thing, they listened to complaints of ps3 being difficult to develop for and expensive at launch.

you can access youtube videos at 60 fps by clicking a video, scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking try something new, and joining the html5 beta. I also suggest the feather beta for a more stable stream

look, call me a biased fanboy, but Michael Patcher doesn't know what he's talking about. He's a business analyst that happens to specialize in games, and speaks to reporters because they pay him, because they think he's relevant; but he pulls predictions out of his ass. his ideas are no more accurate than probability; with no evidence to back them up besides theoretical possibility. ex "we might see an ice age next year, so I declare that we will!" gamers need to sto...

we already have hd audio for the ps3. blu ray movies support hd audio, and some games support linear pcm lossless up to 7.1 surround sound for games like need for speed hot pursuit, gran turismo 5, wipeout hd fury, final fantasy xiii, and probably others

people also say that the pc gives greater control, but that a console controller is more comfortable, and a system is more economical because you only have to pay for the hardware every 5 years or so, and there's a much larger lineup of console games

his statement is probably marketing. The real reason is probably the same reason nintendo waited to reveal the wii controller years ago; because if they want to take more time picking out a design, they can do so; they still have over 6 months. the appearance is a big deal because people like to buy what looks attractive; and maybe they didn't want people to wait too long after the release for the same reason game companies don't like announcing new games years before development. may...

If you throw away your xbox bias and listen to reason, a lot of people wanted a ps3, and appreciate free online and then backwards compatibility with the 150+ million selling ps2 with over 100 million users and several exclusive classics; but few people could afford the system at launch. If the next system is affordable, it may very well sell. Playstation doesn't break down like a 360, and they have more to offer than just a handful of shooters.
