That list is not very accurate. I know for a fact that N4G has more traffic than many of the sites on that list ;)
Added prizes for second and third place to the Contributor of the Month category.
When PS3 is the main keyword used when people are looking for info on Playstation 3, and the original report is based on the key word “Playstation 3”, than I would consider that to be a quite an important detail. I don’t see why one must be a Playstation defender to point out an obvious flaw in the original research. The wrong thing would be to not update the article when new data shows that it is flawed.
No, I am just saying that so far we have many qualified people to choose from. We will not choose who gets the job untill next week so anyone who feel they meet the requirements for the job can of course still apply.
I just want to say that nobody needs to worry about that the new site admins will not be qualified for the job. We have already received many applications from highly qualified people. Getting the extra man power will allow us to faster develop new site feature and improve the technical aspects of the site.
the link is ok, but gaming-age.com seems to be offline at the moment.
you don't need to sign up again, but you might have to log in the first time you visit the forums.
We are reading more than people think :) and we are constantly taking notes. It may not seem like we are doing anything to solve these problems but we are working on it everyday. Btw, both of you posted some good ideas that I think we can use.
I think maybe t3.co.uk is just reporting on the Elite story from a few days ago. So I am not sure if this has been confirmed again to t3.co.uk.
It's funny because I actually made that video 2 years ago for PS3Today for those of you who remember that site. It was just meant as a silly joke but a lot of people got really angry over it.
Anyway I am surprised to see it show up again,
I sure do, I live in Oslo :)
Deepbrown is right the source article is in Norwegian. Lucky for you guys I speak Norwegian so I have updated the article with a new translation.
Well actually I do, I will read through it and see if there is any new info.
I totally agree that this message was very inappropriate, and it was never meant to read that. I personally write all the text for the site, which I send over to the programmer. Until he gets the real text the programmer just use dummy text on the web forms. That message was supposed to be updated with the text I sent over before the system went live. The text has now been updated with the proper message. I am sorry if we offended anybody.
I appreciate to hear you guys opinions, so please keep them coming. The fact is that in the near future we will run into a big problem, and the feedback system has been put in place to tackle this. If we don’t do anything while the site continues to grow and the number of contributors will soon be a lot higher than today, the news will start piling up in the pending news area, the front page will be cluttered with duplicated news stories, many which are just linking to recycled blog posts ins...
Yes, I agree, there is no perfect system as some stories don't seem to fit into any category. Howevere in the example you gave I would choose gaming as it could be linked to gaming culture.
Just to make one thing clear. None of the people who submit news today are in any danger of loosing their status as contributor. Getting the green feedback is only meant as helpful feedback , nothing more. The red warning messages will only appear when we feel somebody is completely ignoring the site rules. And I think it is only fair that they get a few warnings before their account is downgraded.
I have been running game sites and online communities for a long time and trust...
