Because when you wanna do a second run through of a game and know that most of the cutscenes are unchanged there's no reason not to be able to skip them. Lots of modern games allow you to skip cutscenes especially if there's a long drawn out overly dramatic cutscene proceeding the gameplay segment where you lost. Like in ffX ಠ_ಠ

Actually we've been capturing eye ball movement since Crysis. Naughty Dog still for some reason uses keyframing to animate their faces instead of motion capture data. It's relatively outdated and it's starting to show, sometimes the faces in the last of us didn't sync up at all to what was being said on screen. Names

You can 100% this game in a much shorter time. Wasting time and exploring every nook and cranny searching for secrets that aren't there when the game can be 100% in a much shorter time does not justify the price. I could take a much longer time to play ANY game. And cassette tapes shouldn't contain the bulk of the story, the main missions always should include the bulk of the character development.
