You're kidding? Only one "con" you can think to list on this card? not the MSRP for 4GB of ram, not the PCIe x4 for no good reason, not the 2 outputs and not the fact it runs worse than $200 cards from 6 years ago especially on PCIe Gen3 (which was the current generation on Intel chipsets as of a few months ago). I mean even as a clearly paid review you could do better to at least acknowledge some of the furore around this card

I think people are confident in a big pay-out from owning Blizzard Activision shares. Microsoft's shares dropped.

Was worth playing a year ago so yeah I'd say so. Maybe not on the old consoles though

I don't think it's particularly honest to say a PS5 performs nearly as well as a rig like that, unless that rig is broken or something. Any objective way of measuring performance will show a 3080 Ti with a CPU like that wiping the floor with a PS5 or Xbox Series X. You can however subjectively say that there are exclusives that look better than anything on PC, but until they come to PC we can't really compare how they stack up performance wise (but lets be honest, you know how it ...

eye tracking combined with DOF effects and using that for the foveated rendering would be an absolute game changer as far as I'm concerned. One of those things I've been waiting on for years with VR and it's annoyed me that none of the big names seem to be broadly adopting eye tracking as standard for this reason. Better performance and more immersive at the same time. I'm excited at the prospect that Sony is pushing it.

I think most people will/should agree you should question something first. But at the same time, how do you not understand how something you haven't seen can still be peoples most anticipated game? Especially when it's an established game development studio or IP. You don't need to full commit to the kool-aid to still be hopeful and excited at the prospect. I know I'm probably most anticipating Fable for instance, and I haven't seen jack about that so far, but the prospect...

@ anast, wot?
"I didn't know that it was that easy to just plug in a controller and play...it's not"
it literally is.

I'll bite on the trap here :P I mean the first one looks better in these screens (even though it's got a kind of gross sharpening filter over the top) but I'm not convinced this is a fair fight. I'm definitely curious as to the settings used here. The aliasing is much less pronounced on the second shot though it definitely looks muddy as well. First is FSR second is DLSS would be my guess.

When I said it *can* be kind of magic I'm not saying it's com...

I get the argument that FSR is more universally supported on GPUs but it's still kind of meh by comparison, at least for now. DLSS on the other hand can be total magic. It seems like a total missed opportunity to me that FSR doesn't have a temporal element to it as DLSS does, but maybe all that is giving those Tensor cores a workout that would take too much of a performance hit on traditional shader cores (just guessing here). I know Intel is planning on going heavy on their AI specia...

whether or not it's a fact (and the "probably" shows it's a guess) "90% of games ever released..on PC have no mods at all" is truer than "Every game get mods within a month of release" though, which is demonstrably false, if you want to pick on a comment to @ as complete nonsense.

Cool. PSVR exclusivity over and I presume that means the Epic exclusivity is over too

nah, War Drum Studios (rebranded to Grove Street Games) have been working on the trilogy remaster. They're basically a port studio. And yeah there's going to be some devs soaked up in maintaining and updating GTAO but this late in the game I reckon they're entirely different job roles. The devs working on GTAO have probably been staring jealously at the the other teams who get to work on new titles for the last 8 years. Quarantined in some little office cubicle I imagine with the ...

I reckon it's pretty unrelated. Think of RDR and RDR 2 as sequels alongside GTA 4 and GTA 5, because in terms of developer commitment, that's what they are. Whether it's the game you want or not. Just like Oblivion, Fallout 3 Skyrim, Fallout 4, Fallout 76 are the major projects that particular studio was working on. In that case we're going to have to wait for Starfield before we get TES6. It's been 3 years since RDR 2, and while they would have had pre-production well in ...

There are often times where buying a new copy of GTA 5 with the included online in-game currency costs less than buying the in-game currency stand alone. This I imagine counts for artificially inflating a pretty substantial amount of sales by all those whales hooked on GTAO. I don't think RDR2 is ever going to compete with that given it's lack of online success (by comparison). Still, 39 million copies for RDR2 on a single console generation is nothing to sneeze at

Obviously phone components should be replaceable, not just by a "Genius", but by anyone skilled enough to. Personally I think all phones should have a USER replaceable battery. If apple or samsung have to add 1 or 2 mm onto their phones to make that happen so be it. Hell, maybe it will help their cameras not to stick out so much

@Ethereal on the other hand PC gaming's got a lot easier in the last 20 years and in a lot of ways console gaming has got a lot more complicated. The plug and play experience was definitely what drew me into console gaming in the xbox / ps2 days, particularly when PC anti piracy measures were at their most painful and shitty installers you had to wait and click through. Nowadays though when you gotta install games off the net on either console or PC (even if you've got the disk) and b...
