This is in contrast with the arcade industry in America which is coming back from Japan is just now going through. With the 80s nostalgia and Stranger things romanticizing it for a new generation. Also, at least around me, a lot more arcade machines in bars and barcades for the generation(s) that had arcades.

For reference Im 27 and got into arcades more as an adult than a kid

At one time MS said that the one x/ps4 pro model would be the standard going forward. If theyre testing something new, its safe to say its a mid-gen upgrade. They’ll probably have another “Series-letter” name too. Callin it

Idk, Japan never bit for Xbox despite their best efforts around this era. Mistwalker never exploded either, despite future partnerships with Nintendo whichhad a much better chance at success

Would be weird bc the game runs on RE Engine and Capcom is known for great optimization. Unless Dragons dogma 2 is doing some very ambitious stuff

@DogJoshua

He oversaw their largest selling handheld and home consoles. He also slashed his own salary in half rather than layoff workers during the Wii U era which was easily his only true failure as a CEO. People forget he also was involved in the Switch’s inception which will be their highest selling product ever when it’s done.

@Abnor_Mal

You fundamentally misunderstand what those people are saying if you think they're complaining about production value.

It'll probably be similar to the recent Wolfenstein games (with puzzles incorporated), and nobody was referring to those as "cinematic" games.

@UltimateOwnage

The whole third place thing is so tired and it's hilarious how people will upvote it on here because they want to believe it. In the 6th gen they came in second ahead of Nintendo and Sega, and that was their first jump into consoles. But ranking is meaningless because "second" with the OG Xbox is worse than third with the Xbox 360 by anyone's observation. They were only a few million behind the PS3, which is a great success compared to the ...

If it's like the movies, there should definitely be some slower, more atmospheric expositiony bits to move the plot forward.

Yeah i got into Gears 3 multiplayer last year. People still play it a lot. Tons of maps and looks great with the 60 FPS.

Considering how poorly the xbox one sold if they hit Wii U levels they’d probably be happy.

Why? Machine Games have a good rep. Last Wolfenstein sucked but pretty sure that was Arkane.

I predict the game will be decent but unsuccessful - Indiana Jones’ last movie flopped and the gaming demographic doesn’t seem very interested in it either going by sales of other Indy games

It has its place - mainly kids and casuals. You can find a Series S for like $230 more often than not, and it runs contemporary games, for now. And it plays everything a Series X does, which is a lot of games. My friends who only play sports games and a little COD have a Series S, and it satisfies them well enough.

To the avg N4G user, probably not satisfying and we can justify the upgrade to Series X or PS5. But to casuals, its solid. Also people in countries with less di...

I played the OG Xbox game on 360 via BC. Played great and looked perfect. I imported the wii remake as well, but have never actually played it.

They've had a working relationship for longer than a lot realize. Rare made another 4-5 games for GBA and DS after MS bought them. MS had no stake in the handheld market so might as well have a studio make high-interest games on that platform. A similar situation applies here - the Switch isn't really a competitor to MS, so might as well throw a high-interest game out there like HiFi with broader appeal to the Switch market.

I remember MS also made a Viva Pinata ga...

AI will def be an issue. I teach middle school English, and we dont assess spelling at all, havent for years. I think we’re seeing the fallout of that right now and AI’s ripple is coming up

Writing in general is really on decline. I see typos and poor grammar on the reg, even in major publications.

I mean at least one would mean just that. If any of those titles had gameplay it would be noteworthy and a sign of life for those games. If they managed to sneak two in, and they were good previews eyes would be on Xbox for sure.

Yeah objective based stealth shooter genre is basically dead.

I know ppl want third person, Crystal Dynamics usually does third person, Xbox probably needs a third person shooter more than a first, but damn i wish it were in the style of the first 2 PD games.

Well, they put it on the Epic Store and refuse to make a physical version of the game. That loses out on a probably larger amount of ppl than they might’ve suspected

KI has always had its own cult fanbase. Theyre just remastering the game which is nice because this was one of last gens best fighters tbh
