BIZ: Uncharted was one of the first games, along with Ratchet & Clank, that finally really showed off the PS3's power. Some developers have talked about the challenge of working with the PS3 and the Cell processor. What are your thoughts?
JR: Neither of us has worked on the PS3 of course, but Andy can speak to the theoretical differences.
Andy: It's a very complicated beast. The hardware model isn't very similar to the traditional computing mode...
was the best!!!
The only games that I want from this year are:
For sure:
Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)
Fable 2 (360, later I hope PC)
Maybe:
Gears of War 2 (360)
Resistance 2 (PS3)
The rest I don't care about. What do you know, two from each console.
EDIT:
Almost forgot, Fallout 3
I thought it was a fun game, maybe I did not have the high expectations that some of you did. By the way, I only played the PC version.
I think Fable 2 will be cool as well, just stop reading all of the hype. Fable 2 is probably going to be a long wait for me. I don't own a 360, only a PC and a PS3.
probably the game files. The video, and audio will probably stream off of the disc.
I still think that you cannot compare the two. To borrow from your comment, a gaming PC costs $4000, and a PS3 cost $400 (10% of the PC). This is like comparing a 62 inch HDTV, to a 26 inch HDTV; you can't do it.
Thanks for the history lesson, here is a history of the "video game consoles" in my house growing up:
Magnavox Odyssey² (it tried to be a PC, but it wasn't)
NES
Genesis
N64
PS1
PS2
PS3
then you started to sound a lot like a fanboy yourself.
...
I read your comment. I agree 100%
I always thought the opposite; I get a hard on for these consoles. J/K
I love the fact that most console games have demos now. Fvck the reviews, test the game out for yourself.
If this article is true, YES there is definitely something wrong with Conviction. I just wanted to make that point about MGS4 and SC being different before everyone started tearing into each other.
The comment that the author made about SC being a MGS4 "killer" was written to start trouble (IMO).
involved in Splinter Cell (SC), and Metal Gear Solid 4 (MGS4), does not mean these games can be compared. MGS4 has a fantasy element to it, as well as "Boss" fights at the end of the mission. SC is nothing like MGS4. SC takes a more realistic approach. The only similarity is that Snake and Sam Fisher are bad @sses. This article is trying to start a flame war.
16-bit (I had the Genesis) was the best, especially the sports games.
32-bit was good (PS1), but the sports games sucked. It wasn't until PS2 that I enjoyed the sports games again.
I don't agree with everything you said, but none the less, great post. Title "Why I can't bring myself to own a 360", shows that it is your opinion and I did not see you shooting flames. IMO this post is worthy of the "Gamer Zone". Bubbles for you Tony.
a lot of what you said smells of fanboy. Just so we can be clear, a PC is not a console. Some people do use Macs as their PC, you know. You made your decision = PS3, I made my decision = PS3 (and a Windows PC), but it does not make Xbox 360 a bad decision.
I always wanted a 360, but I was never one to spend my money on more than one console per generation. The main reason I bought a PS3 was for backward compatibility (my PS2 was a piece of crap, it scratched most of my blue bottom discs, it was worse than the PS1 that I had to flip over for it to work). I figured I'll get it now and use it as a PS2 until the good PS3 games start coming out. I think it has worked out for me. The only exclusive that I want to play on the 360 are Halo 3, Mass ...
that you would get sh!t for being a Lakers fan. So the logic is not THAT flawed.
It depends on the person. There are some real @ssholes out there.
For Microsoft a PC game sale is OK with them. 99.5% (no reference, just my guess) need Windows to work.
I understand what you are saying, I have been a PC and Playstation owner the last three console generations. Before that it was the Sega Genesis that ruled the console; 1 game - EA Sports NHL 92-95. Yes, I admit that I may have been a bit of a fanboy back then. The rule is, after the age of 13, you cant be a fanboy anymore.
Kill whitey!!!
