Montavious- Why on earth would you spend any amount of money on a HDDVD player knowing 6 months from now not a single HDDVD movie will be on the shelves to buy just to up convert your old DVD’s into 420P. If you’re in that much of a need to get a 420P conversion, you either 1. must be broke. 2. have a sh*tty TV. or 3. both. Save your money for something nice.
A normal DVD player can't play HDDVD's.

I'm a R6, Halo, Ghost Recon, COD, MGS, Killzone type of guy. Tactics/hand-eye cordination skills and online stats are what catch my interest. If GOW2 is more of a tactical game this time around then I'm all for it. But if it's the same run around, point and shoot type of game then I'll pass.
Personally aside from the amazing graphics, Gears of War was alright... The single player game was good but I found the online portion was rather lacking. 8 player rambo style run around blood bath.... If I were a FPS newbie and had no skills then I would probably have played it more.
If it's anything like the first GOW, I'll play the story mode and return it for half of my money back after a few days.

DRM as of 01-01-08 is a standard on all new Blu-ray DVD's.
Cheap is not better. If you can't afford to buy a blue-ray dvd, then keep your dvd. Theres no point in buying a Blue-ray dvd unless you have at minimum a 720p TV and and a Blue-ray player and the people that can afford that dont wine over 10 bucks.

I say a big part of it comes down to the simplest things like the name. HDDVD (how confusing was that 2 years ago) compared to Blu-ray (whitch just sounds cooler.)
I did some research on his setup. Not only after you pay for this setup, you still need to bring in bank just to keep it running. Just imagine the electricity cost every month, the bulb for the projector for the Sony has a 1000 hour lifetime. You looking at 10-20k depending on the bulb of your choice just about every year.
