the 360's use of DVDs might be part of the reason behind this, we also have to take into account that this happens all the time. Like how plenty of scenes are deleted from movies, sometimes portions of videogames have to be left out as well.
Oftentimes there will be criticisms that a certain scene or chapter of a game doesn't feel right, maybe because it ruins the pace of the game and whatnot. Maybe this applies to the content that was edited out. We have to keep in mind that th...
You only paid attention to the supposedly negative aspects, when there was a whole wealth of positives that reviewer talked about. I know, cause I read that same review.
Oh, and you're asking if all those negatives are what an FF is all about? Well how do you explain the fact that at the end, he says "it's a must-own for series fans and a must-see for just about everyone else."
Get the f0ck outta here man, you've been rooting against this game from the star...
Great graphics, great music, so many cutscenes and CG, and they're lazy?
If you say so. Don't know how many times I've had to say that the absence of towns was a design choice to ensure that the plot would continue to move forward.
Soda owned your @ss, Jacko. RIP.
The G in N4G stood for Gamers, not Google.
that FFXIII is a withdrawal into tradition, that it was very conservative for the JRPG genre. But then at the same time they're saying that the absence of towns and the linear paths are a bold move. So what is XIII a risky move or a safe play, according to these guys?
And here's a very well written and informative positive review on the game, which somehow (/s) didn't get featured on the front pages of N4G, but it was submitted in. Read it for yourself, hopefully then you'll all ...
that's made a small contribution itself. I bet if they put Fang on the cover it would sell slightly more.
But not all three main chicks (Lightning, Fang, Vanille), cause then people would be reminded of FFX-2 (not that X-2 was even a bad game).
I thought the cover of XII looked pretty cool, with the whole cast on the cover and all. But the collector's edition cover was WAY better, with that badass judge just taking up the whole space with a huge sword in each hand....
the PS3 did have a better year than the 360. Thing is, I count evrything: exclusives, multiplats, all of it. I'm not one to say a console had a bad year if it had few exclusives but plenty of great multiplatform titles. If you compare all the games released on one platform, I'd say it's a fair assumption that 95% of those games are also available on the competing system. I don't think it's fair to judge whether a system had a good year or not based on the differing 5%.
But in an...
Each console had their own share of great exclusives, and it just so happened that the few guys at this one magazine decided that Uncharted 2 was the GotY. Assassin's Creed II was a great game, what's wrong with it being the 360 GotY?
Be a good sport about it, bro.
defending God of War III here say the writer is some "nobody". Same fanboys fall for every negative article about FFXIII, many of which are also written by "nobodys". Talk about being blind and only paying attention to articles that only cater to what you want to believe.
barely begun development, and yet its already news?!
And I like how a positive review of FFXIII didn't even get featured on the front page.
He pointed out all of the game's strong points, but also took care to talk about its weaknesses in length.
I thought FFX was as linear as it could get, and even then I didn't really notice because the story and characters were keeping everything interesting. I predict the same will be true for FFXIII.
So what will make FFXV the best FF ever? Keep(or even improve) FFXIII's strengths and add in towns? Mini-games? Only the overall fan feedback from FFXIII will tell. ...
are raving that Bayonetta is the best action game they've ever played. Yes, that includes God of War.
Darksiders is cool for what it is. I'm 8 hours in and I'm already getting a little antsy, kinda hoping for it to end soon. The combat gets very repetitive after awhile. And the puzzles aren't particularly impressive.
Bayonetta on the other hand just keeps throwing new stuff at you at every turn. A TON more moves than Darksiders, more bosses, better cutscenes, the fin...
having huge explorable worlds and towns doesn't go right with the story they're trying to tell, which is about a group of outcasts who are being pursued by the entire world.
Go play Fallout 3 or Oblivion if you want your fix of exploration. In fact, don't even play FFXIII if you're that disappointed, no one cares. I'm still gonna enjoy it.
It was their choice of design from the start. What, you really think they had a huge world on the scale of Fallout 3 planned out until they had to do a 360 version? Plus, no towns complements the storyline. Play the game first before you judge the absence as a negative. Didn't know that talking to useless NPCs in towns was absolutely necessary for a game to be an RPG.
article featured a PS3 exclusive on the next issue of GameInformer, you'd have all the Sony fanboys reminding everyone that it's only on the PS3 and how it does this and that and blah blah blah. Insecurity ftw.
360 exclusive? Nah, you just got gamers that talk about how much they're looking forward to the game and such.
The millions of people who bought Modern Warfare 2 did so because the first one was incredibly fun and the multiplayer had ridiculous replay value, and the sequel looked to improve on that. We didn't buy it out of blind loyalty to anyone, dude.

Quoting NateCole here: "PS consoles always start slow for the less educated mind. This guy is no exception. "
And people who write comments like this are @ssholes, seriously. NateCole, you're no exception.
how many of those 256 people had mics, which are essential to the whole team-oriented gameplay that the developers have been touting around?
Exactly.
Oh no wait, that's been done, haha.
