There are moments when AC 3 looks outstanding. Overall though, it's got a very rough edge to it in nearly every aspect I can think of. The story arc and voicework are top notch as usual, but I'm finding that actually playing the game is becoming a chore.

It's obvious playing this that we are overdue for a hardware upgrade. I find it hard to believe that Ubisoft said this game had something like 3 years in development. AC 3 has TONS of cosmetic errors like pop-in, ...

AC 3 bottom line needed more polish + next gen hardware. At the very least this game should've had the polish that AC 2 had.

This is by far the best setting for an AC game (imo), and the story is excellent so far. But it's clearly the worst in the series when it comes to gameplay, UI and overall glitchiness. I'm into sequence 6 now and the potential for one of the best games ever is there. It was simply rushed to market for the $$$. Fuck the big corporate gaming ...

Your definitely right that Treyarch made a much more balanced game.

But, everything else was vastly sub-par after playing MW2. Hit detection (which is kind of important in online FPS no?), The graphics took a major dive and all of the guns felt similar, not to mention on any given day one of them would just flat out not work, effectively shooting rubber bullets. Also, the over blown lag comp system started with Black Ops.

I would be happy with a more balanced, non-hacked MW2 honestly. MW3's lagfest is horrid.

People like the gameplay and that's why it doesn't matter if it's not a monumental upgrade... as long as it plays well. When the online play starts to suffer as bad as the last two games though, well that's two strikes. I really think Blops 2 will be a make or break deal for a lot of COD veterans.

Well Black Ops & MW3 Multiplayer are broken... compared to previous COD's anyways. I say fix it, and fix it fast.

Lots of folks will be giving them some serious competition next gen and many hardcore players are already getting the itch to move on due to the past two experiences.

@cjflora

No, I quite enjoyed RE5. 6 is far different. Somehow, shooting while moving in this game is actually worse than the supposed "tank" controls of RE5. Also, the running, camera angles etc... it really felt like a spin off title made by a B team developer.

I had a blast with Resident Evil 5. Aside from the forced co-op, I thought the game was excellent and didn't deserve all of its hate.

Was very disappointed that 6 has the same forced co-op, but that even so, the rest of the game got worse in almost every way from RE5.

Touche. Opinions are just that, opinions... I just cannot possibly fathom how anyone would consider that demo good however.

Resi 6 was my most anticipated game this year next to ACIII. Complete and utter failure and I hope it takes Capcom down a peg or two. All of this forced "having to have friends play" and stuff in as much filler as possible is killing classic franchises.

This game has done itself a true disservice by trying to stuff way too much down the gamers throat... whorring the Resident Evil name for the sole purpose of achieving sales figures.

Forced co-op (again), three incredibly mediocre campaign sequences, and boring/clunky gameplay. Honestly, give me back the tank controls, a good one campaign story and quit trying to do so much. This demo flat out sux a big one. No buy.

BF3 is boring.

Nintendo is gonna have to come out with some seriously brilliant marketing for the Wii U when that thing launches... all kidding aside there are still many people that consider this to be an add on to the original Wii and with launch games that people can already get on the cheap with a PS3/360.

I think it's MS's turn to capture the blue ocean this time around and it's really theirs to loose. That thing will be a gaming/cable box hybrid from the sound of it. ...

Next gen COD is going to have to step up big time. The 60fps gameplay that it is known for will be challenged by many others on the next consoles me thinks.

Agreed. The new Infinity Ward should not be allowed to continue with this Franchise. Sledgehammer either, as they've done the DLC maps and those are crap also.

4311d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Aside from some balancing issues MW3 is not even in the same league as MW2. Not in visuals, map design spawn system etc....

Had the full Infinity Ward team been intact and on good morale with Activision, MW3 would've been far superior to the trash it is now.

COD has every right to be fretted about what Respawn comes up with.

It's only being perceived that way because MW3 is garbage. Black Ops 2 will return COD to form.

Definitely looking forward to Crysis 3. Hope it's a launch title for next gen though I doubt it from the images.

One of the best single player FPS that's left imo.

Honestly I've warmed up to the fact that next year is probably best. I mean even if they don't bring the exclusives out @ E3, the third party offerings are more than enough to keep 2012 interesting.

It will launch next year as the games landscape looks pretty dry for 2013... usually we would already know of many up and coming games for next year if this gen was still to continue.

MP wise Black Ops completely destroys MW3. I play the game regularly but am seriously doubting getting the DLC packages on this one due to the atrocious maps. All of the Blops DLC was good, if over priced.

Treyarch's last game was just much more entertaining imo... they just need the hit detection that the IW games provide and it's check mate. Here's to hoping it's taken care of with Black Ops 2.

People have no problem spending cash upgrading their PC's every couple of years while it at minimum cost $500 and up to begin with.

If you can't figure out how to gather $4-$600 to buy a new console after 7 years then please GTFOutta gaming. You want those pretty graphics and massive scale? Fork over or game on iOS.

It's simple really, all of this bad economy jargon is tiring already. Work, find work, save, buy nice upgraded console.
