The slot-in controller comes in the box, you don't have to spend an extra $70 to use it as a console. They had a segment where they went over everything one by one (down to AC adapter and HDMI cable) and showed that.

By slot-in controller I mean this thing (not the Pro controller):

Funnily enough you and a lot of developers seem to be labouring under the delusion that emulation is illegal...

Despite the fact that platform holders have NEVER beaten emulators in court. Ever. Lost every single time.

What do you think Virtual Console is? It's an emulator. What do you think the recent spate of SNK rereleases are? Emulations.

See this informative video on the challenges an industry developer who's business model...

I feel like if they could keep improving on the Sonic 4 physics, formula and level design they could have gone from the good Sonic 4 Ep II to something genuinely great for Sonic 4 Ep III.

TBF, I am 'concurrently' on Steam right now (as I am most of the time my computer is on). Doesn't mean I'm gaming on it. That said, it shows that there are 14m who use Steam regularly enough that they'd keep it open most of the time.

Not competing and not matching are two different things given that the overall performance ceiling for Intel chips hasn't changed much for quite a few years now.

All AMD has to do is get within striking distance at a decent price. They won't win over the high-end enthusiasts that only want the very best that way, but they'll have a good shot at winning over everyone else who simply wants a lot of bang for their buck.

Come on. Halo Reach HD. We all want it :P

Yeah. I mean, in the trailer it seems like a lot because they throw every menu you at you in the space of 20 seconds. When you have several hours at your disposal to interact with the menus it should make sense.

That said, I have no faith in Bioware to create good UI/UX. They've been terrible about it going as far back as Neverwinter Nights. Heck, in DA:I you can't even use the d-pad to navigate the menus (who thinks up this shit?). And they did such a poor job of m...

Isn't this just replacing their current top of the line gaming IPS panel, which goes for around 7-800GBP?

I'd have thought they'd target a similar price bracket... Unless they are keeping their 4k, IPS, G-Sync, 60 Hz monitors around.

If they want us to feel confident that is the case they have to show us they've identified what the issues are and tell us what they are doing to address them this time. A vague promise of doing better doesn't really do anything for me.

"Bloodborne just doesn't make sense. Besides, if they don't give an option for 60fps, then any patch might as well be pointless."

It's a Sony IP and PS4 exclusive/showpiece title. It makes just as much sense to go back to it as TLoU or Knack, if not more. From Software doesn't have to patch the game at all, why can't Sony's Japan Studio do it? They did co-develop it, did they not?

As far as Pro showpieces go it makes a lo...

B-B-B-But I thought these only affected consoles! Like when Xbox Live and PSN went down during the holidays the other year!

Oh, wait, no I didn't. Because that would be a stupid, baseless assumption to make that would immediately out me as some high-horse riding twat. Any online service can go down when it is overloaded with traffic, legitimate or otherwise.

Because we use an increasingly archaic advertising revenue-driven-model that promotes clickbait over quality reporting.

With Adblocker becoming ubiquitous many sites will have to shift to a crowdfunded model or die. And when that happens shock headlines and faux outrage will lose their place.

'This is always a bad sign for any game development when it starts off like this.'

I can't think of another game that started development like this that wasn't already destined to sink because there was no talent behind it.

They never actually announced a PC version, and Sony's involvement in the game is becoming deeper the more development gets rolling. I think a PC version may have been a consideration at one point, because of how Sony dependent development has become any plans for a PC version have likely been silently shelved.

TBH it doesn't strike me as any bigger than the Wii's stand. Albeit with walling to protect the screens whilst it is docked in it.

@bluefox755
@ChronoJoe

I'm not saying that they would separate immediately but that their relationship is compromised and on the way to its inevitable end. Why do you think the game ends on the lie. Why does that lie even matter? The answer is because it is that exact moment that is what the game is about (The Last moment/End of Joel and Ellie's relationship).

And it's not just Joel and Ellie. TLOU is a series of vignettes about chara...

Those games were recently revealed and also happen to be a long way off, meaning there's no reason to show them again: they aren't announcements and they aren't timely enough to promote until closer to launch.

Are you worried all those super high-profile announcements have been quietly cancelled or something?

Because yesterday I saw a show that told us we are getting more of two major Naughty Dog games, a load of unbelievable precedents set f...

"As a huge fan of TLoU, I was concerned, and still am, that Joel's role will take a back seat to Ellie's, that his role in the sequel will be much smaller and more minor than his role in the original."

I see that as less of a concern and more of a necessity. Truth be told, I don't feel Joel should even be in this game at all as The Last of Us was a game about the end of their relationship. So either Ellie needs to go, or Joel does OR (the third possibi...

@Ju "It's not running worse."

It's running at a lower framerate with more dips. That's the definition of running worse.

Yes, it's running at a higher internal resolution leading to a clean, supersampled image, but if you cared so much about that, you'd probably play the 30fps/native 4k mode anyway (which does, in fact, run completely on par with the base PS4). If you chose the 60fps mode, however, the odds are you did it beca...
