Through emulation. Same way every PS2 on PS4 game works. You don't need the original source files to run the game through an emulator. Just rip the image from the original game disc and you're good to go. As for PS2 on PS3; if I remember correctly they built a custom PS2 emulator that needed tweaks and changes depending on what game was being emulated, which is probably why (I'm just guessing here) we didn't see that many digital PS2 classics on PS3, as they required a lot mor...

I don't understand the point this article is trying ot make. Not releasing digital versions or removing classics from the store is one thing, but Silent Hill 2, 3 and 4 were never released on PSN as PS2 classics in the first place, so the games not showing up shouldn't come as a surprise. Or am I missing something here?

You could almost say that one can dream... cast...

No?

OK... I'll go sit in the corner now.

All jokes aside though. I would love to see a collection featuring some of their Model 2, 3 and Naomi arcade games. Considering how many games they created for those boards that never saw a console or PC port, it sure would be great to finally be able to get our hands on some of those titles!

How is it too much? LRG has charged $24.99 - $29.99 for every single game they've published (with the exception of Dariusburst, which was $59.99). Play-Asia's preorder for the asian version of Wonder Boy is currently $25.99. If you feel these prices are too high, then clearly physical and LRG releases aren't for you.

There actually was a third ZoE game in development titled "Enders Project". If my memory serves me correctly it was announced back in 2012, but was quietly cancelled due to the lackluster sales of ZoE HD Collection.

That's all in the past now though. I can't wait to see what Kojima san and his team can do with more freedom and less restraints under Sony's wings! :)

Wow! It's been a long time since I've seen a box art and thought; that is awesome! Reminds me of something that would come out in the 90's, and I mean that in the best possible way :)

I'm so tired of all those terrible photoshop jobs with blue/teal, floating heads and random dudes with machineguns on the cover.

Agreed. One of the more underrated titles to come out last gen. The ending was horrible, but it's obvious that they were setting it up for a sequel.

I don't think you'll miss out on anything if you skip this edition. From what I understand it's the exact same game bundled with all of the DLC and slightly saturated colors/crushed contrast.

Since you already have it on PC, I would skip the deathnitive edition and replay the original version with...

Keep it up SEGA! At this rate maybe we'll get Ishin and Zero by the end of 2020? Seriously though, if I start practicing now, I could probably be fluent in Japanese by the time Yakuza 6 comes to the west.

I would love to see this happen! Between Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess i definitely my favorite. So dark and sombre compared to the other entries.

Make it happen Nintendo! While you're at it, why not bring Skyward Sword to WiiU as well? That game would look beautiful in HD!

So what happens to the £145,959 that's already been pledged? Will it still go towards funding the game, or does it end up as pocket money while Team 17 pays for the development and publishing?

Kickstarter is a great concept in theory, and we have seen some cool ideas come out of it, but seriously, this sort of stuff is bound to piss off a lot of people! In other words, this kickstarter campaign was pointless, and the game ended up being funded by a big studio, essent...

That headline... It hurts to read! It should have read: "What if Mass Effect WAS a PS1 game? This is WHAT IT would LOOK like".

I'm not a grammar nazi by any means, and I never correct people on spelling errors or the typical confusion between your and you're, but that headline is a crime against the English language!

I never understood why they made the engine in the first place if they didn't intend to use it for their own games. I'm not a programmer or anything, but I can only assume that developing a new engine is hard. With that said, Deep Down, which is the only game I've seen running on the engine so far, looks incredible!

@ starchild and Septic

Did you play it on launch day? Everybody I knew who played the game on PC at launch complained about it. There were several threads on the Ubisoft forums and other sites commited to fixing the microstutter. Post patch it ran without any hickups, sometimes upwards of 90+fps, so it definitely wasn't a hardware problem om my end. It came with my GPU for christ's sake! Wouldn't you expect the game that comes with you brand new GPU to play smooth...

Apparently you didn't play it on PC... That sh*t was a bugfest of epic proportions! I still get shivers whenever I think about those microstutters that occured like every 5 seconds. They did patch it down the line though (6 months after release to be exact), but you know how Ubisoft are when it comes to PC ports.

Can't say the same for Blood Dragon on consoles though! That game was awesome from day one! :D

I totally forgot about that one. Thanks for reminding me! I vaguley remember seeing it at a friends house back in early 2000, but never got the chance to sit down and play it myself. Strange, considering how much I loved Rare's games back then. Everything they touched was pure gold in those days! Guess I'll have to look it up on ebay :)

Dinosaurs in space? How is that in any way a painful direction? :P

I kid, of course! That title caught me totally off guard when I played it for the first time. I wonder what Capcom was thinking when they made the decision to take away everything that made the first two titles so good and change the setting to a futuristic spaceship.

3144d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Seriously, guy? Literally everybody has heard about all of those! I wouldn't call any of them hidden or unknown, especially Dino Crisis and Breath of Fire.

You wanna play some hidden gems? Assuming we're only talking about games from the 5th generation, try one of these:

- Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru - Saturn (only released in Japan/ extremely low print run)
- Hyper Duel - Saturn (only released in Japan/low print run)
- Gunners Heaven ...

It has a few flaws, sure, and if you compare it to todays standard it's feels a little outdated. But in terms of visual style and presentation it's one the most unique games ever made, only matched by JSRF! You just don't see games like that being made anymore. I still think it's really fun and playable compared to a lot of the other games that came out on the Dreamcast.

Personally I love the early days of ugly *ss polygon graphics. There's just something about the early ps1 days that appeals to me. After seeing 8-bit and 16-bit graphics make a comeback, I would love to see someone attempt to make a game based on the 32-bit polygon look.

On the other hand, a lot of the games from the early 3D era hasn't aged very well, mostly due to poor controls, cumbersome inventory and item management systems, very few checkpoints (if any at all), ...

You've got a point there! I also hope it turns out great, considering Konami decided to gut the pig with P.T. :( Based on what I've seen though, Alison Road looks strong enough to stand on it's own legs.
