I originally faced sort of a crisis: I wasn't sure if I was "getting too old for games" (many people seem to think games are only for children - they're wrong). I eventually realized that, in part, it was the game's fault and it is also a problem with having played so many hundreds of games throughout my life. I think a lot of people on this site can relate.
@KZA: My average work week is 50 hours. I spend the rest of my time writing articles and playing games. Having a job, as Hicken stated so well, is not relevant.
It's a matter of design and repetition.
KZA is obviously just flamebaiting.
Agreed! I gave up on the quests (I felt overwhelmed by the quest log) and started getting more into my character from an RP perspective. It is a role-playing game, after all. :)
I'm not sure if OP is affiliated with CVG, but if so, it's sort of sad that even decent writers stoop to the sensationalism that drives traffic. I suppose I'm really not surprised, I just don't like seeing good articles tarnished by poor headlines.
F-Zero is an incredible game. I still play it regularly to kill time. This game looks impressive as well!
CES 2012 was a fantastic year for gaming hardware - especially cases!
That's for sure.
Sensational question mark title?
I've been a huge fan of Cyberpunk games since they first started coming out. I'm getting Syndicate whether or not it's any good, just because I like the genre.
I have a feeling that Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Battlefield, Hawken, Red Orchestra, Deus Ex, Wargame, HotS, Fray, and just about every other game on the planet would argue with you.
Nothing has changed. If you look at the genre distribution over the last decade, you'll see that the amount of games per genre (precentage-based) has widely remained static. Just because -you- have noticed RPGs doesn't mean no one else did 10 years ago, like when Baldur's Gate, Ice...
Games used to be a lot more interesting to me. I was able to figure out what made me get bored of them in the first place: I was grinding quests and trying to "win" every game. This guide really helped me figure out how to make my games last longer.
I've loved Marvel vs. Capcom since the arcade games. I've been tempted to build a MAME arcade machine ... they're just so big, haha.
It's a sensational question!
Edit.: Sorry, I meant: "It's a sensational - Question?"
Finally, a post about Twisted Metal that doesn't have that stupid clown image! :P
Well said, that_whore, well said.
@iamgoatman: Yeah, that's true, although Xbox hardware is the worst of them all. I wasn't trying to make some sort of political statement about consoles, it was just an example.
A great game, for sure. There needs to be more cyberpunk games. I was definitely stylizing the map to be in the cyberpunk style :)
The graphics *potential* might be better, but until developers stop bottlenecking themselves on Xbox hardware, the actual graphics will remain fairly equal cross-platform.
Then again, bodybombs is right and I shouldn't even be replying to this.
I still haven't had a chance to play FIFA extensively, but I've heard it's incredibly good for a sports game.
That guy in the last screenshot in the article looks like Shakespeare!
