The Intel i3-2120 is still an incredible CPU for the price, but the FX-4100 has finally been serviced to a point of reliability and performs almost equally to the i3-2120 at a slightly cheaper price.

Can't go wrong either way!

PvZ was one of my favorite PC games for a while. I'm not normally a big casual game fan, but the simplicity of design for a tower defense game was greatly appreciated. A lot of modern tower defense games try to go WAY overboard with features, which ends up creating a muddled mess.

Dwight's correct. All files remain permanently embedded on the platters - residual magnetization is even recoverable by experts. Eraser just attempts to hide it, but all temporary contents remain.

As stated clearly in the article, it virtually demarcates the file as overwritable. It is still in tact until overwritten with new data.

Contrary to popular belief, consoles run just as much of an OS layer as PCs do, and since that OS layer is logically equivalent/similar to the way Windows works, we know that deleted files from consoles can be recovered in a similar fashion as they can on a PC.

This means deleted save games can be restored, given the right utilities. All you'd have to do is connect it to a computer and run some data mining/recovery programs.

Fantastic analysis. It's been a long time since I've played Mario Party, but I remember fearing the same thing. I've always wondered how long Nintendo could produce games of the franchise without effectively remaking what's been made in the past.

Halo's always had a cool look to it and a fun story - it's also not an Xbox exclusive, it normally releases for PC about 1-2 years after launch. I love Halo: Custom Edition.

Well said, Samuel Jackson. I suppose you must speak English pretty well, after all.

I can see supporting different e-sports competitors or something like that, if not only through nationalism, but I agree -- supporting greedy corporations only because you happen to own a device made by them is borderline dangerous.

Yep, a great point. There's no logic behind aligning with a piece of hardware... all it does is damage the community we have.

Fanboyism could be the death of gaming culture as we know it if it gets out of hand, but as long as there's a careful balance between negativity and community, it will only encourage a continued growth in the industry.

Shinji Mikami is a master of gaming, that's for sure. We can attribute a lot of what we have to his work.

There are untied ends everywhere you look -- companies are leaving ever more reasons to return to a series and milk it at a later date, as do movie franchises.

I've been watching Salem since before they had anything to show. The permadeath system has me most intrigued, though!

Agreed. I love co-op. We all want to play with one or two of our reliable friends, no need to play on a massive server and rage for an hour.

Definitely. Singleplayer is alive and well. In fact, I think the multiplayer market helps push singleplayer to try new and innovative mechanics.

Not to mention, it has consistently had some of the highest server population across all platforms - PC included (however fleeting).

It's a long ways for CoD. The series started out with a fantastic singleplayer campaign direction and has now gone full multiplayer.

Multiplayer and Singleplayer both have their place in the world. I think the appearance that multiplayer is becoming dominant is just that - an appearance. I'm fairly certain that if you broke down the distribution between multiplayer and singleplayer titles over the past decade, things probably haven't changed all that much.

What would be interesting, though, would be to see sales numbers between the two.

From a hardware analysis perspective, I'm really dying to see what's inside of them. I want to know how soon they'll go obsolete :P
