Mass Effect 3's ending crushed me. At least Kojima can end a game right.

Yes I agree that's definitely reassuring. ME2 on insanity is for me far and away the funnest shooter in existence; it obliterated the lackluster shooting mechanics of the first. It also had MUCH better characters than ME1. I am a little skeptical because there has been very little gameplay revealed. I'm hoping its because the cinematics integrated (like the Krogan princess stuff) are spoiler heavy.

@ krazykombatant

To each his own. If it was an encounter with Harbinger I'm willing to bet it would've been exactly like Saren though. Personally, when I got past the wave of collectors and used the cain to shoot the human reaper in the eye, the entire screen had this hazy orange nuke effect and fire was coming out of its mouth, then it collapsed. This was on my insanity run and I was low on ammo. Long story short, it was EPIC.

On easier difficulties ...

To me, the end boss was a major improvement over Saren jumping around.

If by return to ME1's style you mean the weak shooting mechanics and bad inventory management, then no, I don't want that back. I do want more emphasis on RPG elements in addition to the awesome looking gameplay.

We Mass Effect fans love the series' story, characters and overall universe. None of us want to see it handled carelessly or god-forbid, completely fucked up-hence the nervousness.

I am not at all nervous because I'm pretty sure ME3 will be superb. Ironically, I would not have used any of these reasons to prove my case.

Good eye, hasn't even been submitted yet.

EDIT: After watching that trailer, both of these maps look like a fucking mess, ESPECIALLY the NY one. I know I'm gonna hate the camping on that bitch.

I'm pretty excited too. The combat looks great. I'm even MORE excited for the Witcher 2 on Xbox though. Sadly I don't have a gaming rig, but I've read that Witcher 2 destroys my beloved Mass Effect in terms of story and choice. I HAVE to play it!

I don't love it, but I got used to it like everything else. Still too many layers if you ask me but playing your installed game is easy enough.

Good point now that you bring it up (assuming its running on the same engine of course). I'm sure it won't cost much more than a normal XBLA game, right?

COD will never do this. A SP campaign (we all know its 4 hrs) and 12 map expansion for 29.99 would gain my respect. Instead they still charge 2000 MS points for the World At War map bundle. Never seen hacking and glitching COMPLETELY ignored in my life.

For that reason I'll never buy COD new.

I'm not nervous at all. I keep up with Bioware Pulse on youtube and every video makes me even more excited. However, these are pretty good points except for #5. I didn't think Arrival was bad at all even though it should have been free of charge given its length and content (or lack of).

I, for one, preordered the collector's edition with confidence :) These are still celebrity cameos to be revealed and it Bioware says that EVERY crew member will make an appearanc...

TIme to take a hiatus IMO. I felt this way about GOW. When 3 and Ghost of Sparta came out in the same year, it was a lot. Abyss is releasing a mere 3 months after U3, so yeah, I'd say take a break. I love Drake and all but the character development was a step back from U2 IMO so that affects my opinion as well.

With that said I'd love a new Uncharted on the next gen Playstation. Even if it came out next week ND has my full trust in delivering.

Yeah I'd say a squad using automatic shotguns on Dome is MUCH worse than the Type 95. I still think the PP90 and dual machine pistols are EXTREMELY overpowered as well.

Off topic: Why is an M16 in the pic?

No if it means there will be no improvements on the SP side of things. Throwing in MP with the same SP formula would really piss me off. I was hoping for some type of series revamp.

4531d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

God of War is an excellent SP experience and of all the game play additions MP is the last thing I want (not saying I don't want it but I think there are other cool additions that matter more). I want a longer SP with new GP elements and a much deeper story. It would be nice to see inside Kratos' head beyond the angry exterior.

There is nothing like a damn good lengthy SP experience. I hope games become even more of a story-telling medium because this gen made new strides in characterization/character development. I've never liked any main character as much as I do Nathan Drake (except Big Boss) and have never been closer to anyone than my crew in Mass Effect. Games like these are the reason why I am a gamer. Any devs can slap together an FPS, and I can't wait for this to run its course and be done with.

For the most part, yeah, but Eddie Guerrero took over after the name change and looked to lead the company into a new era. Gone too soon. RIP Eddie.

Yeah the "unrealistic-ness" of Here Comes the Pain made me buy a PS2 again just for it. Still one of the best games ever made to me. BTW Smackdown vs Raw 2006 OBLITERATES the first SD vs Raw in every way.

@krazykombatant

Mass Effect 1 takes you on a journey, no doubt, but ME2 is WAY more involving in that it is up to you to prepare your crew for the Omega 4 Relay. It is entirely in your hands to have your crew ready and build trusting relationships with them along the way. You are REALLY running the ship. More interesting than ME1 where you're basically told wherever to go by the council.

I think Mordin, Legion, and Thane alone are better than anyone fro...
