my word that was awesome, Tetsuya Nomura Knows his keyboard. the battle sequences for versus looks amazing the teleporting and usage of sword combat envokes an amazing power of sadness and dismay. my gosh it looks great, and while versus is CGI he said the game will be completely represntive of how dark the game looks... man i'm even more phsyced for the versus tahn i am for FFXIII. it's a wonder why people are so impressed everytime they see a new versus and has it hyped more than FFXIII...

There is gameplay footage in the FF13 trailer were Lightning is showing combat, those parts where the damage pops up over the enemies heads is in-game graphics, the fact that your brain can't register that is amazing. If you don't like FF games, thats one thing, but to make retarded comments only makes you look ignorant.

About damn time, this is the first time in a long time that I'm eagerly awaiting a Final Fantasy game. God I hope the music for the FFXIII trailer is in the game, even more so if it's the battle music. If it makes it out next year '08 is going to be the best game year EVER.

You know the English Dub is going to kill it. FF12 was great when Vaan and Penelo weren't talking. Here's hoping for multiple language options.

I doubt the game will come out this coming year, but we will definitely see a demo attached to another game. The same goes for the next Team Ico game.

Hah you're so right, I hated the voice acting in FFXII. Mostly because a few people sounded quite off and it had to be downsampled to fit on the disc so it sounded like it was being fed through a cell phone from 1988. I'm hoping they do multiple language tracks as well, I heard everyone was supposed to be moving towards that anyway (EU not counting since it always does) since the system is region free and has enough space to accommodate it.

the versus and 13 footage were both gameplay realtime, the white engine coupled with cells 4 processors in use for this game make cgi in realtime, not separate from gameplay, this is what sony told you in e3 2005, but you didnt believe them, final fantasy 13 and versus arent the only ones to use realtime cg on ps3 though, so keep up, and ps3 is only getting started, and the game CANNOT be replicated on ANY other platform, ps3 supercomputer gaming,

while i love my ps3 and square to death. the onl one confirmed to be a cross between CGi and gameplay is FFXIII. mr.kitase said it him self. as for versus, the who trailer is representiung what the battle theme will be for the game. and it was all CGI. but it's not the best thing for gaming, it matches the 360 in some aspects, beats it in some, and is weaker in some...ps3 isn't the only thing you'll see such quality stuff in this generation, and is certainly no match for pc hardware wise. Ah the reason I bought a PS3 is finally revealed in an extended addition! Versus for me is just kind of a bonus treat. Final Fantasy XIII had the inferior trailer style wise and all, but it's what I'm looking forward to. Nice to see continued emphasis of PS3 exclusive at the end to shut up all the fanboys with their port talk. Can't wait for these games, look so freaking sweet!!

Wasn't looking forward to this game at all, but these trailers have me hooked. I stopped playing FF games after VIII (V-VIII were all amazing), as the games didn't seem to progress gameplay wise (ATB got boring). The story looks excellent, and if Versus lets me play as that insane teleporty-tornado-blade-thingy guy (and doesn't have ATB), then yes, this game has certainly jumped up to a very high spot on my list. My PS3 may win me over yet, R&C I found to suck essentially as while it looked pretty good, it didn't play very well, it was just the same button mashing over and over (don't get why people rank it as AAA), a last gen experience in the gameplay dept. But Uncharted was absolutley excellent and masterful, with that leading this year out and with games like this on the horizon, 2008 could be a great year for PS3 owners. My Xbox may have to lay low for a while...

Sadly 2 of those are now lead developed on 360. Final Fantasy isn't enough for PS3.

If they can get the gameplay to be anything close to what is in this trailer, then I will definately buy it, since its being made by the team behind one of my favorite games of all time KH2 and it isn't going to be turn based. I know this is a bit of a noob question, but I DLed the HD versions of the trailers and I can't play them because I don't have the required codec. Anyone know what it is and where I can get it? Anyway, the youtube trailers still look awesome. I am looking forward to these games so badly, only had FFVIII on PSone but I enjoyed that. It seems that unmistakeable Final Fantasy art style has lived through the ages.

its cgi for versus, and final fantasy 13, rendered fully buy ps3 in realtime, as i said sony uses cell for making movies in sony pictures, so its not hard to believe that the ps3 can do this, its completely believable, its just that square enix is one of the first to be able to exploit some of what ps3 can really do, as sony showed in e3 2005, this is ONLY POSSIBLE ON PS3, the closest pc will get to this is designing the game for ps3, not realtime visuals though, and this is only some of what ps3 can do, this cant max out ps3, nothing will, rsx is another toy that is capable of movie stuff, so get out

Looks like a system seller to me. Gives me an excuse to have both consoles. Got my 360 cause Xbox live kicks ass and Im addicted to gears of war, and now a PS3 for FF13 and if/when/probably Blu-ray wins

HOLY CRAP!!!!! I JUST CREAMED IN MY JEANS!!!!!!!! It's games like this, that LITERALLY send shivers down my spine, that make me love gaming so much.

Games like Mario Galaxy are great (and that's my personal choice for GOTY) but it just doesn't give me the same feeling something like this does!

Also, Noruma went on to say that once again Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII will be PlayStation 3 exclusives. This meaning that even though the White Engine is now multiplatform, gamers will not see these two titles going anywhere but the Sony PS3. Why you might ask? Well according to Noruma, Square Enix is using the PS3 to its full specifications, meaning that in order to perform the same game on PC or Xbox 360 would require a full reworking of the code and to run on the Xbox 360 would require probably a highly chopped down version or multiple disc version of the game.
