Two of my JRPG nut friends who imported were really disappointed with this game.... I'm not really sure why but I guess time will tell when I buy this on release!

One thing which does sadden me GREATLY is the lack of dual audio. The dub is horrid and theres no lip synching. :(

Finally is right. I remember they showed trailers for this game before the PS3 came out and it was called White Knight Story. I've been waiting ever since. Seriously can't wait, the combat system looks so good.

Well, it supports that controller, it just doesn't support the rumble feature. I played the Japanese version with my DS3. In fact, I didn't even notice that there was no rumble. I had no idea that there was no rumble until I just read it right here. Weird. Oh well, if I didn't notice it, then I guess it can't have been too important.

Aquarius, It's main story is a solo affair, but there are 50 quests that you can play online (with friends) or offline (solo) it's your call.

All playfulness aside this is very refreshing to hear, especially since it was slated for Feb. 16th along with Heavy Rain on Gamestop's website at least now they are spaced out a little which is a good thing in my eyes.

Can't wait now and going to pre-order this bad boy A.S.A.P.

@Redempteur: Well I still have faith in Level-5 they have yet to really disappoint me so far yet. Perhaps even though we won't have the Japanese voices it will still be a good experience at least voice wise.

@vegnadragon: Was it? Gamestop had it listed on February 16th with Heavy Rain. I marked both exclusively on the calender because it would have coincided with my birthday of the same date. I also just checked they still have the listing of the 16th up now, though I bet it will change soon.

We could sit and blame them for a while for a lot of things, but it would be futile in the end. Of course I'm slightly miffed that it's coming out now rather than sooner, but at least there are games in between and we're not sitting around twiddling our thumbs.

What's different from this one compared to others? Do you mean all RPGs on every console or just the ones that have been on the PS3?

i love undub versions of my games and i enjoy my movies in VO too .

I've been scared by bad dubbing and now it's a pain for me to bear this .
Sure i 'll probably play it .Most likely BUy it .
But it's stupid that they can and they won't do it . that's at least what i think ...

looks at disagaea 3 , valkyria , agarest senki , eternal sorata .... ect ect . at least japanese is confirmed for star ocean international ...

and i still fear for ff13 on that point .

Oh I understand completely what you mean about bad dubbing. The fact that I found out the Yu-Gi-Oh is one of the worst dubbings I've seen so far. Completely re-arranging and misinterpreting what the characters originally say and change them to something else. I'm sure everyone who does things the way of Japanese animation and games to English ones are all afraid the same.

I'll more than likely end up buying it as well, but at the same time still hesitant as well. More than likely there should be a demo and then we could test it out then to validate whether or not it will be as scary as predicted or good enough to buy.

I suppose they didn't want to pay also to use those Japanese VOs which is why we don't have them, quite stingy (in my eyes) but I guess I can see where they are coming from; either way I'll probably just have the subtitles text on and mute if it's that bad. All in the Game play for me.

P.S. That is true that other RPGs had the Japanese VOs, I know Cross-Edge even has that and I kept it set firmly on that lol. Starting to doubt a bit that they have to pay somewhat to use the Japanese VOs if even X-Edge had them and that sold much less than what this is going to sell more than likely and the company probably knew.

BUT they have some copyright to clarify ( and some money to give ) for the songs .. especially if the original artist doesn't want that the music is used out of japan ( what happenned for tales of symphonia GC for exemple )

Or when the publisher doesn't send enough money ..

Basicaly ..besides the songs .. the opening song i mean or the ending theme .. they are fine .. they don't have to pay that much when they already have the rights for the game ... and in WKC case, it was a partially financed sony product , so i don't see where the problem is ...

What? Why not? There's only one thing I know for sure is better about FFXIII, and that's the graphics. That game has gorgeous graphics, and White Knight Chronicles has very nice graphics, but not as spectacular as FFXIII. The story is decent in WKC, as well, and while I don't know anything about FFXIII's story yet, it must at the very least be deeper, more involved, and have more twists and intrigues than WKC's story, so most people would probably say it's better.

But when it comes to gameplay, WKC has a LOT to offer. The combo system is really unique and awesome. The combat is loads of fun, and the item creation system is really cool and deep, as well as loads of other types of customization in the game. The thing is, Final Fantasy XIII is strictly single-player. White Knight Chronicles has an incredibly lengthy and highly replayable online multiplayer component and questing gameplay. It gives the game a totally unique flavor of console RPG gaming that you don't get in games like Final Fantasy. There's nothing like going around online with your friends doing quests.

I have the Japanese version, and I can say I love White Knight Chronicles, and the English version is going to be even better. Final Fantasy XIII looks cool, too. I'll buy them both next year.

White Knight Chronicles 2 has already been announced, I doubt there will be any Dark Cloud 3 for awhile. They probably just mean they're going to announce more info about it.

Does anyone know if this game is actually good or not? Any importers here? I enjoyed Rogue Galaxy and DQ8, so I know Level-5 is solid. I was a bit put off when I watched the gameplay videos months and months ago when it was released. Not going knock it until I try it though, I just thought I'd ask for some confirmation whether it was good or not.

there is nothing wrong with the game itself

The story isn't finished ( but it has a end ) ..that's why part 2 is already on the works .
There were some complains about online but since then , voice chat came , and the "village" and many more quests .

So basicaly it's a good game that should occupy your mind at least the month before ff13 cames ..

Too bad there aren't us voices on the disc ..

Also giant robo knights ( also a reason to try this ) ...

Well you see since now "The Georama" is in the US release the complain about the lack of co op in that review are null and void .... ( patched since ).

That is very much true, but the point I wanted to make was to give the person we replied to an bit of a read on the other aspects of the game. You had already pointed out some things from a previous post, so I thought this review might add.

Reviews haven't been great for this one, but I'll get it I loved the FF12 battle system. Apparently it took them a year to patch in voice chat into the online play, hopefully well get good lip syncing.. I think we could of done without to get the game much earlier. Well SE gets what they deserve for taking cash from M$, everyone in NA will be buying this game instead - no one wants a late port at full price.

Ugh a few things have really irked me.

After waiting this god damn long for a localized version (1 year a 3 months) they couldn't even find the time to put in dual audio. The excuse for FFXIII was firstly the DVD9 and then that they didn't have enough time.

Whats there excuse for this? Lack of time? Lack of space? How could fail RPG's on the 360 have multiple audio options (Lost Oddssey has 5 different voice tracks) and this doesn't even have two? I'm starting to think it's none of these factors and it's just the developers finding excuses so they don't have to include stuff which won't make them extra money.

The dub is so dull and the mouth movements look so poor.

While i was excited about this game a while back, after seeing the import i'm more or less on the fence about it. The game is very bland in all aspects, it has that look and feel of a launch title which is not bad but by no means is it a good thing. If i had to chose between this or Demon's Souls i would go with the latter even though WKC provides more story.

I can't believe it took SONY this long to bring this game over seas though, this game would have been better placed somewhere in the dry months of summer.
