Level-5 the studio behind Ni no Kuni and more famously known for Yo-kai Watch in Japan has been working on a PlayStation 4 title. During a White Knight Chronicles livestream, Level-5 president Akihiro Hino said they have been working on a PlayStation 4 title which they plan to unveil during E3 next year.
Hino also said he would like to create a game that exceeds the White Knight Chronicles titles, which were developed in collaboration with Sony Computer Entertainment Japan. PlayStation Plus members in Japan can download White Knight Chronicles II to play for free. The last White Knight Chronicles title was a PSP prequel developed by Matrix Software, the studio behind Final Fantasy III for Nintendo DS.
Level-5 will be hosting the second Vision 2023 event this year on November 29 at 21:00 JST.
Quite prolific, looking at the anticipated lineup. Decapolice has been on my radar.
For the love of God, Dark Cloud 3 before I shuffle off the mortal coil, please
Level-5, the studio behind the Ni No Kuni and Yo-Kai Watch franchises, stopped operating outside of Japan as their North American business closed as it scaled back in late 2020.
Level 5's business model is to make a hit TV show and then milk it.
Nice when it works, but not so good when they can't make a hit TV show.
Awesome news! Level 5 made so many great games: Dark Cloud 1 & 2, Rogue Galaxy, Dragon Quest VIII, Ni No Kuni, etc. I can't wait to see what games they make next.
Grab your longsword, shield and round up the fantasy archetypes - there are Ice Dragons afoot!
More exclusives for the ps4? I say bring it on. The more the merrier.
