Mark Wilson: "Wii MotionPlus will make the Wii better. Sony's very impressive motion control demo will be better than Wii MotionPlus. But Microsoft stole E3 and may have already won the motion control wars with the announcement of Project Natal."
Yet another leak for the ASUS ROG Ally X points towards as much as 8 hours of battery, but how does that compare to the competition?
Honestly, I really like this updated version. But it doesn't solve the biggest flaw that the original had for me: the Z1 Extreme APU. Yes, it's an extremely powerful part, but it is not part of AMD's Adrenalin driver update program, so it's dependent on Asus for driver updates. And unfortunately, Asus doesn't have a stellar record of support for their devices.
Up to 8 hours basically just means the least demanding games. AAA gaming at highest wattage would probably be about 2-3 hours which is good compared to just about 1 hour with the current ally. The OLED Deck can do about 2-3hrs.
Nope. The only improvements I want to hear is better customer support. Otherwise, I can't be bothered.
"In a time when companies don't care about preserving games, I have high respect for the creators of projects like N64: Recompiled." - Hanzala from eXputer.
Some food for thought:
Would you donate your physical copy of a really rare/expensive cartridge (Conkers's BFD, Bomberman 64 Second Attack, Ogre Battle 64, the two Castlevania titles, etc) to those managing this project for the greater good of getting them preserved online for all to experience at some point?
The snippet of ray tracing at the end of the og trailer was low-key amazing. I found out thanks to Nerrel who also made a texture pack for MM, and i can't wait to see how much more great this game will be in the near future. With model swaps, ray tracing, retextures, and a more quicker process than decompilation, it's gonna bring new life to N64 games.
There might need to be a bit of clarification recompilation is not the same as decompilation.
This is basically a container to excite the rom within but allows for all sorts of beat additions and tricks like new lighting effects such as ray tracing to be added.
But decompilation would ultimately be king as it allows for a widespread porting capabilities and uses the assets from games to build a native install for PC or whatever the target system is e.g Mario 64 for PC or sonic mania for psvita / wii
Even 10 years after release, Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA Online's player engagement has risen drastically compared to last year.
Project Natal is a beast...MS take your time to do it right.
Project Natal seems kind of cool as a tech demo but seems almost completely useless to me in the video game world. If the day comes when I have to wave my arms around, stick my legs out, and jump all over my living room to play my favorite franchises, I am done gaming.
But my real question is this. Who is this appealing to in the 360 userbase? The vast majority of 360 users are "hardcore" (for lack of a better word) gamers who probably won't be willing to drop the money for something like this. People who would buy their kids presents already have an image for the 360 in their mind and this probably won't change even with Natal.
My point is, if people are really interested in this type of gaming (which I'm not but judging by the Wii it is apparent many are), then they probably already own a Wii and won't be willing to spend the money for another console just for something like Natal. I just don't see how it could possibly be successful with the userbase the 360 has created and the saturation of the casual market by the Wii.
LOL yall ps3 only owners look upset.
Sonys can do more....but ms is more advance thinking
