"PlayStation 5 sales compared to the same month a year ago are up by 112,520 (10.1%). Xbox Series X|S sales are down by 135,268 units (-24.7%) and Nintendo Switch sales are down by 58,636 units (-6.3%)."
“However, even in the UK, which is a market where Xbox is a lot more competitive it’s been a tough year, with Xbox Series S and X sales down 23% year-to-date. The reality is the console has very little momentum, which is such a crucial element when it comes to how successful a generation is or isn’t for a platform holder.”
@ Plague-Doctor: it's not doing that well in the UK either: https://www.gamesindustry.b...
There's just not really a reason to own an Xbox anymore. No compelling exclusives (or very few at least) and an excessive focus on services, mainly Gamepass. I owned all Xbox systems up to the Series, but now I don't see a reason to buy one.
PS5: 621,337
Switch: 223,760
Xbox Series: 126,939
PS5 compared to PS4: up by nearly 30,000 units
Xbox Series compared to Xbox One: down by nearly 111,000 units
PS5 up 103.6%
Xbox Series down 35.4%
Based on what Phil has been saying it seems like that is what they want themselves anyway. Seems like the best course of action for Microsoft, especially with all the studios they have now.
It's especially bad when compared to PS5 being up 143% year-on-year.
Yeah, impressive results!
"As for consoles, not every Eurozone country is tracked. But across those that are included, PS5 is up 143% year-on-year in October (11% up month-on-month), Switch is 20% down year-on-year (10% up month-on-month), while Xbox is down 52% year-on-year (down 20% month-on-month)"

A veteran of the company, Samwise Didier, left Blizzard after 30 years of work

I also got Forspoken for €15.
Whishful thinking?
"I’m leaving the company with nothing but deep gratitude for the past, and a glowing optimism for the future - with an exciting new project in the works, a fantastic team that’s stronger than ever, and the continuous support of Sony and Playstation Studios, I know that Housemarque’s brightest chapter has yet to be written."
Yeah going third party would probably be the best choice for them, especially given all the studios they now own.
Meanwhile Series X is doing worse than Xbox One, a console even Xbox fans deemed a failure.
More than 100.000 PS5s this week. Also pretty good performance for Like a Dragon Gaiden.
It's a popular game on any platform, not sure why you think this is some kind of burn. It's not.
Replied to the wrong person, sorry.
What does this even mean? Talk about trying to change to subject...
"Launch month dollar sales of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 exceeded those of September 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man by a double-digit percentage."

While true, as the article point out the Xbox is also doing badly in the UK, which was once a stronghold for the brand in Europe.
